Two refs is working well

i think the 2 refs have been a good thing to happen to rugby league. the game is too fast 2day
i would also like to see the video ref relaxed more to only be able to judge in the ingoal.
Also on the 2 refs, some of them may not be the best at the monent, but as finch said on the sunday footy show that it will take time, its only been in for 11 rounds, not 11 year. :)

The game is so fast it takes longer.

FFS people believe anything marketeers tell them.

the video ref is f**ked. they'll go back and analyse ever facet of the play within the tackle contributing to a try, but hypothetically, if Idris was tackled short of the line and the Bulldogs were to score on the next play, there wouldve been no analysis of the prior play at all.

what makes every other play inferior to the play in which the try was scored? it's nonsense.

video ref should only be used for confirming the grounding of a try. everything else should be dealt with by the officials on the ground like they would on every other play.

I agree. Or at least limited to in goal decisions such as a race for the kick and who it came off. How often do we see the video ref check whether a player is offside off a kick, they always do but they are never ever offside.

indeed Brett Suttor was CORRECT in his rulings. The Souths players did not remain packed therefor time blown back on, then as per page 16 of the ARL 2009 Laws of the games "If a scrum has been set and fed before time expires play shall continue until a player in possession is tackled or the ball
goes out of play."
it had not yet been fed.....so Full Time was blown. Correct decision. Well done Brett. Lets hope the media reads the rule book before making claims about this decison *cough* Phil Gould*Cough*:)

I think its time you people wake up and realize referees are human, they will make mistakes just like players. How about you get your ticket go out in the park and ref...lets see you do it...you do better.

what the f**k constitutes a 'packed scrum' these days??

neither front rows were locked when the ref blew time on. you couldve driven a tangara in between them.

let's at least return to some resemblance to the scrum in rugby league. it doesnt have to be as technical as the formation in rugby......but bring back the skill in some form at least.

Yet to see the benefit of having two refs.. Except the blame probability is halved. Despite the increase in mistakes.

The game is a lot faster and more enjoyable to watch. Less interference from the video is only a good thing. And the overall officiating standard is no worse. That's the benefit.

"what makes every other play inferior to the play in which the try was scored? it's nonsense."

This is the essence of the problem with any 2nd/3rd/Video ref decision.

Time was blown back on as as per the NEW NRL rule this season that when players pack a scrum and time is called off the minute they unpack time is to be called back on. As could be seen the Souths forwards unpacks..so time back on...is it that hard? seems pretty black and white if you read the rules.

So where do you draw the line of what is and isnt unpacking a scrum?

So one player had a little peek, was it any worse when they all ran in to pack the scrum and they unpacked

This is were the problem lies. A rule that ISNT black and white to police. Therefor blame the NRL for making the stupid rule in the first place not the referees who are just there to inforce them as such not make them.

You cant make everything black and white, the refs have to use their own discretion sometimes
