1. We still don't know how to play out a win. We are much better at chasing then leading. This was Round 26 2007 all over again. Do the team practice getting set for a field goal? Obviously Farah being in Disneyland didnt help, however the set we had on Souths line with about 8 to go that resulted with Payten dropping the ball on the fourth was the worst set we have had all year. It was an absolute shambles.

What is the go with Marshall trying chip kicks when we're up by 6 with less then 10 to go? You drill it low and deep, preferably over the sideline. I am at a loss as to why we are completely unable to close out a game. A decent team would have beaten Souths by 30 with the amount of ball and field position we had.

2. AJ, you've finally got me. Beau Ryan is sh*t. I've always known he is slow and accepted it. However have always considered him a safe winger and happy to player like that in our usually weak defensive backline. He has been average this year however today was the last straw.

When Marshall put that great crossfield chip in the first half that he took it should have been a simple wingers try. However due to his extreme lack of pace he had to come infield and butcher an absolute sitter. Then Talanoa jumps over him to score in the corner, fair enough he has a big height advantage. But the last bomb he dropped that gave Souths the set that the last try was scored from was unexcusable. Why do our wingers insist on trying to take unassuming midfield bombs in traffic? You are 50/50 at best. The far safer option is to let the opposition take it and belt them. Tackeling an attacking player in mid air is perfectly legal. I have seen him do this time and time again, mainly for the same result. Today it costs us the game.

Bring Peni in next week. God help Ryan against one of the Broncos wingers.

Yes, it is completely legal. A defender may tackler an attacking player in the year - however an attacking player cannot tackle a defender in the air.

spot on mate. it was brought it so a defender still has a chance to stop a try if the player catches the bomb over the tryline.

why ryan tries to take a bomb thats going to land more then 10 meters out is beyond me.
