The Panthers are pleased to announce versatile youngster Tyrone Peachey has agreed to a two year contract with the club.

The 21 year old made his NRL debut for the Cronulla Sharks this year after coming up through the junior ranks, and will join the Panthers from next year until the end of the 2015 season.

“I’m really excited to be coming to Penrith, and I appreciate the club taking an interest in me and my playing future. They believe I have a promising future in first grade, and that’s a good feeling. The squad has a good mix of experienced players and fresh faces, and I’m keen to meet the boys and play some good football”.

Panthers General Manager Rugby League Phil Moss says “Tyrone is going to be a great asset to the club. His versatility on the field will bring an added spark to the side, and I’m sure our fans will find him exciting to watch”.

Moylan
Roberts
Brown
Whare
Simmons
soward

Sege

Manu
Taylor
Docker

Plum
Kite
Peachey
M.Robinson

I wouldn't of signed Kite but it's done no use making Docker a prop now

Some of you might go a little white when you hear how much you payed for him.

We threw a good offer at him but your counter offer blew ours out of the park.

I can imagine. Though a backrower then can play almost anywhere. Ivan's dream so we had to get him

You may go white when you hear the counter offer the sharks made that was knocked back. We are happy with what ever was paid as we have already secured our young talent along with the ones from this years squad we wanted

I'm not sure where Peachy will fit in given that Taylor is killing it for NZ, mind you he is versatile and can play in the centres or halves if required.

One of my best mates is a die hard Cronulla fan and is EXTREMELLY but hurt about this much more so than losing Townsend to NZ. He is Adamant that Cronulla have made a huge mistake and that he would gladly let Wade Graham go to keep Peachy as he seen the kid as Cronulla's future.

Awesome signing. Stoked to have Peachey. We got some brilliant depth at this club now. Something we haven't seen in years

Yes we have made a mistake, but no way on earth would letting Wade go to keep Peach be a good thing. Wade is only a little older than Peach but has approx 100 1st grade games, they are not the stats of an average player.
I reckon if the Pennies had the choice they would take Wade back before Peach no problem.
If you had said signing Heino and/or re-signing Toops then I may have agreed with you.

I totally agree with your mate. I am close to pulling the pin on the Sharks. Our esteemed management drags us headlong into ASADA and we now let our best local junior in years go i agree with your mate on Peach and Graham too. Peach has immense promise and is very different to what is running around in the NRL. Granted he isn't the biggest. But not stopped him at any level yet. Anyway , who needs an entertaining try scorer when you have Ben Pomeroy. By the way, thanks for him. First Preston, now Peach. We are level. Plus you have Simmo too :)

I could figure Townsend although not happy about it. You should go after Michael Lichaa too. Another gun local. Playing for a useless 20's side until injured and nowhere near first grade despite our run of the mill hookers.

I agree BBB, as Gus often says, potential is one thing, but so many just don't make it. Graham has made it, where he gets to is yet to be determined. Peachey is still just potential at this stage, although he does look very promising. That said, he is a quality signing and I'm glad we got him.

Credit where its due to the Sharks supporters. Most clubs fans respond to their players being signed elsewhere with "he's not that good anyway". Nice to read from the couple that have posted here as we'll as a quick read of the Sharks forum over the past hour the esteem Peachy is held in. Well done Panthers.

Unfortunately that's the way it works. Assuming the Sharks offered him minimum wage of $75k, he's unlikely to change clubs for another $5k or $10k. Panthers would have to come up with something around 25% higher than the Sharks offer IMO.

Mansour > Simmons and its peachy

On potential yes on form no. Though it's round 16 plenty can change by then. Pre-season form & injuries still will have an affect. The other not sure about is Kite. He has missed a few crucial tackles notable on Hurrell last week but on less minutes should be ok.
