Tyrone Peachey agrees to terms with the Panthers

$250k would be overs under the old salary cap , but under the new one that's about right.

Cap was $4.4 million last year

It will be $6.3 million next and $6.55 in 2015

That's about a 45 to 50% increase.

Therefore under the 2012 cap we would have been paying Tyrone $170k.

More than reasonable for a solid prospect.

I'd say we'll run with Kite and Grant starting for the first year at least. Mckendry would be more effective off the bench anyway and whether it be Mose or someone else, they can swap with Grant for 20-25 mins.

Well fug me...I'd be changing manager if he will tell just anybody what I earned!

Hehehe.

Read your way through forums and you will realise that every streetcorner punk who has the ability to hit a couple of keys on a keyboard and create a persona knows the salaries, contracts and details of football players. And to boot all the ins and outs of their lives.

Either that or they know jack and try their best to sound like they know.

There are no credentials here.

Caveat emptor.

Or in this case, reader beware!!

Peachey will do well at NRL level, no doubt about - I am extremely disappointed to see him go !

I also think $250k including incentives is reasonable under the increased salary cap.

The problem for the Panthers will be where to play him.
He is at his best as a roving lock - but you have Taylor coming next year.
Halves - possibly - but not suited to centre IMHO.
Most likely he will play at 14 as a hooker/utility - but hooker won't allow him to rove and do what he does best.
