I actually find the essay writing thing is very relevant to real life.

my favourite trick for ancient history was to find one obscure piece of primary evidence thats vague enough so you can use it to prove just about everything you want and then work it into every essay - it makes you look great cause they figure if you know something so obscure you must know everything and so anything obvious you leave out gets overlooked
