Uate dropped?

Looks like Uate has been dropped this week against the Cowboys.. Thoughts?

Dennis, Mamo, Sione and Ross have all earned their spot. Id rather have Gags on the wing, but he is still above Aku.

Assuming he isnt injured, this basically confirms he's on the outer. Hopefully he finds somewhere else to go and where not stuck carrying his salary for 2017

Bit unlucky really. There's been times in the past where he definitely should've been dropped and wasn't to though. Mamo's had 2 pathetic games this year on the wing and a good one at fullback.

It was a really poor tackle and made Michael Gordon look a lot better than he really is tbh. But surely Aku has more credits in the bank than Mamo so far this year? That being said our year can't really get worse than it is currently so I'm interested to see what Mamo does with his opportunity. If he can string a couple of decent games together I wonder what that will mean for the future. Also with Pete Mata'Utia coming back in a few weeks time it will be interesting to see what happens with our backline if Ross and Sione both hold their form. We could see Pete come back on a wing in place of Denniss perhaps?

I personally would let Deniss stay in the side from here on. We need to develop him. He has a real class and swagger to him. Pete you would imagine returns at centre to partner Sione and push Rossy back to the wing. That means Uate has Mamo and Deniss to get over for form.

Good, he went from being the most dangerous attacking winger in the comp with slightly below average defence to the WORST defensive winger in the game with about as much tackle breaking ability as reagan tanner.
You blokes defend him but he has been total shit every game since round 2 this year.

Out of everyone who has started somewhere in our back 5 this is the pecking order:
Ross>Pete>Sione>Gagai>Mamo>Denniss>Uate>Pat>Feeney

Uate is lucky to sneak in ahead of Pat

I'd say it's the start of getting rid of him. Force his hand to go elsewhere to save his career.
It's a bit ruthless but it is exactly what we need to do.

It's amazing that getting rid of Uate and Stockwell alone would free up $800K in the cap next year...

I think it won't surprise many here if we end up with a handful of top line ESL players here next year or in 2018. I do not believe Browny is interested in playing the NRL overpriced player game with anyone. He said as much last night in the presser in regards to Tariq and why we let him go. He will sooner say thanks for coming. We will end up with a young side full of quality players ready to prove themselves to the world. More importantly they will bleed for this jumper or be playing elsewhere.

There's no doubt he needs to bulk up. Denniss & Gagai should be training partners in the off season. Both would be twice the players they are now if they managed to add 5-6kgs
