According to the latest Bureau of Statistics results the northern beaches has the lowest unemployment in Australia at 1.4%

The unemployment rates in northern Sydney, central Sydney, St George-Sutherland and central-western Sydney - which includes Parramatta - were all at or below 3.5 per cent last month

Wollongong has the highest unemployment in the country at 9.6%.

Wollongong is an unusual place. It has all the typical signs of westyism but is by the seaside.

I didn't see the article, but I had such a wonderful experience last sat night meeting some dole bludgers at a BBQ.

They were typical Westies (apologies to the nice westies around). They turned up in ugg boots and the chics looked so snazzy in ugg boots and trackie pants combined with a top you would wear to a nightclub :?
Anyway, being polite I had a quick talk with this girl there, she is only 19 and was so proud to be living in her first place supplied free by the government. And she was shocked to discover that me and my friend worked full time. To quote her "I can't believe you work! I could never work"
Thats just great

I was also impressed by the 24yr old who was smoking bongs in the garage while her 3 children ran around asking where mummy was

Are you serious dude? i can't believe that our hard earned tax dollars pay for these assholes!

They should be made to work.

The western suburbs is not THAT bad... in general, it's a great place to live - there are just pockets where you wouldn't dare pay a visit, unless it was deemed really necessary.
