I didn't tip it, but I saw that coming...
From all reports, Randy's face turn and title reign hasn't got over as much as what was wanted or expected.

It all seemed to go too fast imo and I think they will now build Randy up a bit better with a long fued with Triple H, possibly culminating with him winning the strap back at WM21.

Not happy about seeing HHH up the top for that long either, but I think this is more about Randy than him.

I tend to agree with the statement that it is better to have the face chase the heel for the belt, rather than the other way around, and hopefully it pays off for Randy in the long run.

Look at the Rock for example. Generally speaking, most of his time at the top was spent chasing the title.
When he lost or got screwed out of the title (as happened a lot) it didn't affect his popularity. If anything it made him more popular and made his next match even bigger.

I think this is what they are trying to do with Orton.

Benoit held the belt for about 6 months this year and ratings have been sliding. Benoit is great and gets over great and deserves his time in the sun but let's face it - why bother watching if the good guy has the gold?

I watched the PPV. most of it was a snooze fest. The crowd was alive during the ladder match and for HBK's return but apart from that they were dead quiet. Most of the PPV was a snooze fect. Hats off to Christian and Y2J as they busted their as off. The mainevent woke me up but dead set this crowd was bad as they werent into it. It was actually a pretty good match. A bit technical but still good. Benoit went for maineventing to opener. Tomko dished out possibly the worst match in 2 years against Richards which was a complete and utter squash. Crowd turned on the match.

This was in the ohter thead but relates to this one too.

Best Match - Christian V Jericho

Worst Match - Tomko V Stevie Richards - this was bad.

HHH V Orton - I think this fued has been too rushed. Orton should have remained heel up til this point and faced Benoit at Unforgiven. it is a throw away PPV any way. He would win and then have Evolution turn on him leading to a match against HHH at Survivor Series. HHH wins after interference from Flair and Batista. Orton begins the classic babyface chase of winning the rumble and having to go through Flair, Batista and the newest edition of Evolution (either Edge or Shelton Benjamin IMO). He defeats HHH clean at WM 21 to put him mega over and hold the belt until atleast summerslam.

I think what we need is more Attitude - what the hell happened to Mordecai? He was one dude who could have made things interesting.

Get Kane more involved.

Benoit is shocking as World Heavyweight Champion. Its just submission after submission. He has won so far lets see 2 out of about 35 fights by pinfall! Now that's BORING! He was good at Wrestlemania and Backlash, but if the WWE were smart, then he should have dropped the belt at Bad Blood :x
