The resentment comes from the fact that "Shire people" get an extra 2 marks to boost their UAI when applying for admission! Wollongong people get 3 extra marks, and Shire people get 5. How is that fair?!?

Well I dont know about that. I certainly didnt get any marks, nor did I get offered any marks, nor did I need them.

Also, there is a feeling that "Shire people" only associate with themselves, and want nothing to do with those from Wollongong. That's where it comes from.

It's true that Shire people associate with other Shireys but it's generally because when you enter uni you hang around those people you know. I've met plenty of people at UOW who I'm mates with now.

Us 'Gong guys always used to bag them out, mainly due to their attitudes towards people who weren't from Sutho.

:lol: It's funny getting bagged out for being from the Shire. If it's meant to be an insult, it's like being hit with a warm piece of lettuce.

The Shire girls are much hotter than the Gong girls!

That can sometimes be the case but there are sure some hot chicks at the Glasshouse on a Wednesday. Wollongong chicks are nicer and easier to talk to than Shireys, it's easier to pickup at Glasshouse than say that abominable shithole, Carmens.

But I havent been in months and dont see myself going back
I'm especially not paying $12 for the "privilege"!!!
I think I've been twice all year and the second time was only because I got dragged into it by people who were giving me a lift home from the city. Now I really only go to Northies/Sharks games/Sharks leagues or if I'm lacking funds one week maybe...just maaaaybe Cronulla RSL. Sale di Mare goes Ok too if youve got a good group.
