Upcoming Tours and Likely Suspensions

Remember the Kennedy suspension that ruled him out of the New Zealand test and third state of origin? Hopefully the judiciary aren't forgetting that in the pending Petero Civoniceva case tomorrow night.

Civoniceva will get two matches if he pleads guilty. If Brisbane lose on Sunday that will only be one match. He therefore won't be able to play in the October test against the Kiwis. Based on the Kennedy decision, he won't be able to count that as a match in his suspension, either, because he wasn't selected to play at the time.

I guess if he's selected on the Kangaroo tour, he can probably count the first tour match as the second match of his suspension.

The difference beween the Kennedy & Civoniceva suspension is that Kennedy was found guilty by the ARL (Rep) & Civoniceva was found guilty by the NRL.

If the Knights had picked Kennedy first instead of the NSW selectors, then Kennedy would not have missed as many games.

But no the NSW selectors stuffed it up & picked him first.

Hey you never know, we still may see Civoniceva play another game in the NRL this year.

OK then Kaz, now the Josh Perry suspension comes into play. He was suspended by the NRL, missed a State of Origin (ARL run) game and then misses an NRL match despite being chosen for the Origin.

And all on a one game suspension.

Either way, Civoniceva is likely to be flown half way around the world for 2 matches, while his replacement for game one is going to be flown there for one. Unless the Broncos win this week, Petero should be watching the action on channel 9.

I think the rules are NRL suspensions = NRL games

ARL = Rep games.

Just wait until Razor sees this as he knows everything about League.

ARL suspensions relate to rep and NRL games by the standards set to Kennedy. And the NRL suspension issued to Perry forced him out of the origin rep game. It's the same situation as Civoniceva, and unless the Broncos win this week, he should be sitting out the next rep game.

There will be no TBA this time.

I forgot that Australia are playing New Zealand in North Harbour on the 18th October.

So he won't be flown half way around the world, just to sit out the first match.
