i would like to keep Thorman though, he as showed glimpses of what he can do, he just needs a bloody chance #-o

And he has SWEET FA chance of that happening with Smith as Coach.

The kid must be so disillusioned with the NRL.

Yeah, he only took about a $250k pay cut to come here and be our 19th man.

How many other coaches were eager to to bring him over from England?

I think some of you had the expectation that he would be a first grade regular. Smith said that bringing him here was a risk and if he played first grade it would be a bonus. I dont think he has done much to deserve to be picked and he has hardly been dominating in Prems either.

No one else has done any more than him to be picked ahead of him.
And in the few games he was given, he busted his guts.

He should at least be given a spot on the bench.

So Smith was supposed to drop players from the team that beat the Roosters last week? Turn it up. Your first post on this topic was after the loss last night. IF you belived so strongly that Thorman should have been in the team why no open up earlier? Easy to say things in hindishgt isn't it.

Thorman should not be anywhere near our team. He is just to small and not fast enough to pklay in our game. Look at the pace of our game compared to ESL. Its like a jet. Thormans defence is woeful as well. Thorman has had his chance to impress. And with his situation he did not take it. He should have had enough incentive to do something to please us and show his skills.

Thorman reminds me of a small bird on a buffallo's arse. Dykes is better then anything we have at the scrumbase. However we must cut our losses with him as he has only played a handful of good games since he came in 2002.

Dykes is definately the best option we have atm, and it would suck if he was released to go to Cronulla next year.

But I still think Thorman deserved more of a shot than he has been given. Like Suity said, there has not been one game that he has played in Firsts where he has not busted his ass.

Busting your ass and being good are different. Look at Peterson. I like him but he has no real skill just his enthusiasm leads to good things. Thormans doesnt

While Dykes hasn't been a real hit for us (injuries, form etc) he is still our best option in the halves. IMHO he is guilty of trying too hard most of the time instead of just letting it happen naturally. Behind the fully fit forward pack next year could be a real difference.

You only have to look at last night's performance to see how rudderless we were in attack  At least when Dykes was in the side we looked a bit threatening .... I would hate to see him let go without a suitable replacement being picked up. I would keep Thorman too, has shown glimpses he can play, you have to remember he is still young.

Um, because Throman was listed in the 18 both weeks, and Suity couldn't know whether or not he was playing (and hence comment) until after the game?

I don't think it would have made a difference this week against the Cowboys anyway.

OK, fair enough.

Though I too am not sure Dykes or Throman are the answers? If the rumour is true that Dykes is  then the club may as well test Thorman out thoroughly to decide whether he is to  also.
