Why would you like a guy like Lyon (Heart the size of a tic tac) playing for your club Davester? I never wanna see him in a parra jersey again!

When I first saw him play, I thought he should be playing 5/8

And thats exactly what we need.

I didn't think he was big enough to play in the centres

He showed good hands and a good kicking game, Scott Donald was the recipeint of a lot of his assists with both hands and feet.

As much as I dont like what he's done, it would be hard to resist if he wanted to continue his career with the Eels....althought it seems unlikely.

Kicking game? - you mean kicks in general play?.....sorry I must have had my eyes closed all those times he was kicking for Parra - I don't seem to remember him doing it at all.

The things we will lack next year in our halves is organising and kicking.....I think its a bit of a difference to be playing 5/8 for a country team to 5/8 in hte NRL....sure he can slip a pass, but I don't believe he'd be much good as an NRL 5/8.

It depends on the 1/2 back.

If the hooker or fullback can kick, the 5/8th doesn't have to be a kicker. Kenny was a prime example. Wagon a not so good example.

He would be excellent if we had a deep attacking backline where the centres and wingers ran onto the ball rather than stand flat footed.

Kenny used to set up plays by standing wide off a Sterling pass and jink, swerve get half tackled and unload to zip zip or Grothe.

So if Witt throws a long pass that hit's lyon at speed and he uses his footwork and evasive skills, gets half tackled (or frees his arms) and slip it toa running Mckinnon, Burt or Grothe then that style would really suit him.

However, we'd probably still ruck it up one out.

I'll believe he's playing for us when he signs, until then it's nasty rumours. I'll tell you why we would like him though, heart of a tic tac or not, he is a class footy player, and you need them to win comps.

i reckon any team would love to have a player of the abilty of jamie lyon in their squad. you can' tell me that he wouldn't walk into the australian team at the moment with the ability he has and the other centres that are in the game.

i feel it would be the greatest disapointment if we were to move smith from his position and also release lyon. the longer it goes on the more it seems lyon was only unhappy with the coach.

ultimately it comes down to the players... if they are happy to have him back thats all that should matter. i for one would lov eto see him back in the blue and gold.
