Well the final tennis grand slam of the year has kicked off, and Lleyton has breezed through his first round match. Alicia Molik is also through, which is good to see.

I don't know if Lleyton's heart is there this year. Just a few days ago I was reading how Lleyton was willing to throw tennis and all its glory and whatnot aside for a career in the AFL. His comments, not my interpretation.

I know many were claiming it was a tongue in cheek remark, but on the eve of one of the games biggest tournaments, why would he say that?

The Williams sisters are out injured, but I think they're trying out for a position in the offensive line for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Hewitt and the scud are throught to the third round, while Alicia Molike was defeated in 3 sets by Suarez.

Yeah, beaten in 4 i think by Nalbandian. Unlucky, just outplayed. Hewitt's still going, and playing very well. I think he's ranked 5 or 6 Kingling by the way.

Lleyton has defeated Paradorn Srichaphan in 4 sets after going down in the first, in a match that got delayed about a thousand times by rain. Great work Lleyton, good luck in the quarter final against Sjeng Schalken I think, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah, lost in 4, and it was against Fererro too, rather than Schalken as I suggested in an earlier post. Federer is also out, but Agassi and Roddick are still going, and these two must be heavily favoured, especially considering the fact that it is the US Open.

Good to seen andy roddick win the mens final he is gonna be something

Roddick is an arrogant brat; worse than Hewitt.

Oh, and, Kim Clijsters choked AGAIN. Henin beat her in straight sets despite being on a drip and only getting 5hrs sleep.

Justine is an excellent player. Her semi final was just awesome against Capriati, and she is unbelievable. Very quick around the court, and deceptively powerful, she is in my mind, along with Clijsters, the future of women's tennis.

The future better come soon for Clijsters, because she is on the way to becoming one of the great chokers.
