Please don't confuse kickers in the NFL and all other players in the NFL. Sure kickers are athletes in their own right but not on the same level as all the other NFL players. They are two completely different types of athletes. I equate kickers athletic prowess to that of golfers. They are great at what they do and I couldn't come close to doing what they do but I sure as heck wouldn't want them in a defensive line with me.

Nate Smith is a good example of who the US needs to attract to league. Sure he may have been able to make the NFL as a kicker but he is really more of an athlete that could also kick. Not your typical kicker. However, I do not think he would be NFL material at any other position. He is fast but the NFL has hundreds of players as fast and they are also much bigger and much stronger. Give T.O. a call he has some free time.

I know Chief was in NY Giants training camp, what other Bulls players were in the NFL?

T.O. playing next year for the Philly Fight sounds good to me :) Maybe they could recruit Donovan McNabb as well :)

Former NFL players that work at Glen Mills School:

Charlie Hope - Played center for the Green Bay Packers
Jonny Jones - Back up tight end for the Ravens (played for them when they won the super bowl)

Glen Mills Players that have Football experience;

Frank McDermott - Had a tryout for the Philadelphia Eagles
Cory Sheridan - Played arena football

As for kickers.....I'll take those kickers on my Rugby League team. I think you see more and more kickers in the NFL getting involed in players now. Look at how many saving tackles David Akers had last year.

Nate was flat out overrated. Fantastic athlete and fast as can be, but had absolutely no ball handling skills and practically played no defense. If you put him on the wing and just said catch the ball and run like hell, then that would of suited him fine.

Nobody plays league in American to make a living - and if he ever thought he could then he was living a pipedream.

And who turns down an NFL career to be a kicker? If he was good enough, then he woud of easily made 200K a year. Don't think anyone would turn that down.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Totally agree. I am all for the expansion of the game and truly do hope that the AMNRL kicks off, but it is really evident of the arrogant American attitude in some of these posts. Know your place and show a little respect, Nate smith was a place kicker, he is a padded up soccer player and thats it.
