Use Hayne to bring the NFL to Sydney?

I know there's already a Hayne/NFL thread, but this also relates to the concept of other sports now moving games into the Australian market.

Soccer is doing it, baseball did it...will the NFL use Hayne to do it?

OK, they probably don't need to use Hayne...but surely the difference in publicity would be massive, as well as merchandise sales?

So...a BIG club signs Hayne to a punter's contract. They bring out a mediocre team to play against, who they will most likely wallop.

Bring Hayne on in the 4Q, when the game is decided. Hell, mif it's an exhibition then just use him all game.

Would the return be worth the investment of a minimum contract for Hayne? They'd sell out ANZ, but could they also sell out Suncorp? AAMI?

Sorry if this shouldn't be it's own thread. If that's the case, please fold it into the main Hayne/NFL thread.

I think you may be overestimating how much the NFL care about Hayne coming over to try his hand.

NFL played a pre-season match at the Olympic Stadium about 8-10 years ago.

Not much of a turnout then, but if a team did come out in the near future,I'm quite sure there would be a better groundswell of interest.

The turnout @ ANZ for the Broncos v Chargers game was massive. I was there. Was anything but a poor turnout.

an NFL game would sell out in Sydney. Absolutely sell out. No question. I'd be there for sure

I would definitely go to an NFL game in Sydney.
I went to the baseball earlier this year, and I love the NFL infinitely more than that.

Would even consider going up to Brisbane or down to Melbourne for it as well if it was held in those cities.

I was there on that day and the crowd if I remember rightly was around 60,000. If the NFL brought a regular season game here I have no doubt ANZ Stadium would sell out.

it was in 1999. you know how i know? my wife bought me tickets to the game for my birthday. i was so excited when i opened the envelope and saw tickets because i thought they were grandfinal tickets. when i saw they were tickets to a preseason game i wanted to pick her up and backslam her.

needless to say nobody at the ground knew what the hell was going on. not that it mattered. it was a freakin preseason game. the starters maybe played 3 or 4 downs.

I read something in a sport industry mag earlier this year that Brisbane Tourism is trying to lure a game to Suncorp in the near future.

As has been pointed out before though, the NFL couldn't give two shits about Hayne, he'll never make it so they aren't going to build any sort of campaign around him.
