Pumpkins, QOTSA, and Air will be good. Not the quality of BDO, but i'll go anyway. Bought tickets last night.

Whilst Pixies are nice,

Pumpkins > Pixies.

Merely personal preference.

Are you serious?

I saw them in July at the Fillmore in SF and they did a 3 hour and 15 min set finishing with 30 minute long closing track "Gossamer". If thats half hearted, then I will never go to a gig again...ever.

How bout seeing them, then make a judgement. Not base on an opinion of individuals on the internetz lol....

Pumpkins were closer to the top than The Pixies could ever dream of, and I'm a massive fan of the Pixies.

30 minute tracks? I'll give that a miss. Even if it is good there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Too many John Butler Trio shows and 20 minute closers - it got boring.

They had a good album in Siamese Dream and what should have been a great album in Mellon Collie which ended up being a good album with far too much filler. It all went to crap after that.

I'm not comparing the Pumpkins to Pixies - but you guys are. Any Pumpkins album better than Surfer Rosa and Doolittle? Wake up guys...

Gish, Siamese Dream & Mellon Collie are all better than anything put out yt the pixies.

Pumpkins, FnM and TOOL were THE best bands of that era.

I enjoy the smashing pumpkins at times.
The first 8 songs on disc 1 of Mellon Collie is awesome, plus 1979 is a good song. Some earlier songs are good as well, went to sh*t abit after that ltho machina had a couple of good songs. Billy Corgan is a nobhead tho and that ruins them a bit. Faith no more were better.
