yeah panthers played well just made too many mistakes and gave away too many penalties.
You better hope that Elliott doesn't go and see Robert Finch again this week.

yeah i'd like to quickly say bad luck to all the panthers supporters. I was at the game and it was a great atmosphere. They never stopped trying and full credit to your boys. Unfortunately for you but fortunately for us we grinded out a good win.

Great supporters also, i was copping alot of sh*t when things wernt going our way, but it was good to see i could give it all back in god fun.

All the best for the rest of the year!!

I thought the effort was tremendous and those fans who are being critical on PI don't have a clue as far as I'm concerned.

Not taking anything away from Parra but we probably lost the game rather than the Eels winning it. They ground out a result and did the basics better than us and were certainly helped by Shayne Hayne as almost all the 50-50 calls went against us.

I hate to criticise individuals but the Peter Wallace experiment is not working and he simply doesn't offer enough in attack. We need Brett Firman fit and he must come into the side.

Matt Elliot will not panic and I expect him to keep faith with most of tonights players for the Storm game. IMO the one change that needs to be made is Mark O'Halloran into the starting pack at lock and Matt Bell back to PL.

O'Halloran lock is a great idea. I'd put Nathan Smith in the centres to cover for Jennings, and put Jennings onto the bench.

His defence just isn't good enough. Matt King would run over top of him with ease. Jennings offers too much in attack to drop, so bring him on for impact IMO.

Franky Puletua almost certainly played himself into the starting pack for the Anzac test match. Is in the best form of his career and he was absolutely outstanding for us again tonight as he has been week in week out since coming back to the club from Souths.

Before the match, I thought Parra would take it, but I didnt like the refereeing, honestly, obstructions featured prominantly in the eels win.. and that spoilt the game.

As to whether it would have changed the result, I'm undecided.

Anyway its over I suppose.

But the ref should be running the sideline next week.

I agree, very good game from him.

They always rev up before the international selections, thats why Souths should have an additional edge this weekend notwithstanding Joey-retirement mania.

Frank Puletua has been excellent since Round 2. Getting better each week, very impressed with him. Round 1 he was awful along with others, and i was thinking we made a mistake taking him from the Titans.

But he has fixed his game each week, and is a hard running, hard hitting, 100% effort with each game player. Makes few mistakes... and we couldn't ask for more then that from him.

That said, he won't be likely to play for New Zealand. Even with his great form, they have enough players to not need him. It's a pity, as Tony Puletua is nearly guaranteed to play, and Frank has been the more reliable of the two.

O'Halloran to lock?

Please...the guy is a hack...proved he was a hack last year..he is not first grade standard.

Leave Jennings in the backline...but i don't get switching Gordon and Jennings....when they are about the same dimensions, King would run over both. IMO Jennings held himself well last night.

Parramatta's tries came from flimsy defence from Lewis for the first try...and a pissweak tackle from Matt Bell in the second half. They were the only chinks in the armour really.

We just need to hold onto the freakin pill.

IMO Nathan Smith performed well at lock...didn't offer much in attack, but defended extremely well.

Norrie didn't exactly perform as well as I expected him too....but I'm willing to give him another week. That dropped ball with line wide open was inexcusable but.

I think we need to give Grant a go now and drop Bell. That'd be about the only change i'd make.

Aiton should not get suspended either...there was deadset NOTHING in that tackle other than a solid hit...saw 5 like it last week that got praised as massive hits...But Grothe....should get a few weeks...even Hagan said they set out to intentially target the heads of players...thats absolute bullsh*t.

So my bench for next week would be:
14. Moors, 15. Grant, 16. Norrie, 17. Aiton

If Norrie fails again...then bring back Cross after 3 weeks in premier league he would have the hunger back by then.

Those on PI that are complaining are only venting their frustration as to what they see is taking a similar road to previous years....
I wont mention names like i said on PI but most plays we have gone flat and most of the boys are undecisive on what to.
I also mentioned that we need some more mongrel in our game if we do get the odd big hit like the Moors hit on i cant remember who we lifted if there is a hard hit and driving tackle we lift but most times it only lasts 30 seconds or so and we need more of it and it also lifts the crowd.....
I agree 100% best game ive seen Frank Puletua play well done ...:D

IMO Gower is more of a problem than Wallace.

Wallace is seeing no clean ball at all since Gower and Priddis haven't thrown consistent clean ball since 2004.

Some of the panther insiders say hes actually better then Tony but not as consistent.

I'm sure he'd fire up for NZ.

Peanuts to the wing!

Priddis summed it up in the post match press conference it's frustrating for them out there playing and us in the stands and at home watching. IMO the effort has been their except for round 1 and the structure too but the execution and ball control are just off.

The biggest concern over the past two weeks for mine are stupid things like letting bailey run past several of our backs and hooker to score off a kick and letting a 2nd rower kick a field goal, stupid things like that keep biting us in the arse.

Negative points from last night:
*We played alright last night, a lot of sloppy ball though - mainly from Gower.
*We keep running across field and it really frustrates me when I am sitting down and watching the game.
*Sometimes we try to hard with all these bloody off-loads

One thing that did really piss me off last night was the stupid inside balls. Why the hell are we throwing inside balls that are forcing our giant second rowers to stop and prop back on the inside losing all their momentum? Give it to them wide with a bit of room ah la what the eels were doing with hindmarsh last night.

I agree with O'Halloran, played really well last night in Premier League, is way better in the back row than he was at centre. I'd give him a shot at first grade also. He made so many offloads last night.

I don't think there is anything wrong with Jennings defence. He can tackle, it's the decision to intercept that's not paying off for him. When it does pay off, he's a genius. He is exciting to watch.

Gower's a specialist at taking those balls that are about to hit the ground, must be frustrating for him to watch his players drop balls that are placed on the chest...

Ref aside, Parramatta comprehensively outplayed the Panthers.

Far too much dropped ball.

Only Franky P stood tall.
