Changes?

It sure would be nice to get the season back on track with 2 wins in a row.

I'd go-

1- Fisiiahi
2- Tupou
3- Taylor
4- Mannering
5- Inu
6- Mateo
7- Maloney
8- Packer
9- Berrigan
10- Lillyman
11- Brown
12- Ta'ai
13- Luck

Res- Rapira, Matulino, Mara, Lousi/Latimore

Goodbye Heremaia and Locke

Looks good to me. Although I'd possibly go with Inu at centre and Locke on the wing. (no disrespect to Taylor, he went well on debut and I'd happily slot him in on the bench). Heremaia the only player deserving to be dropped, I thought Packer and Rapira both lifted their games against the sharks though they could both still improve their workrates, their runs were effective but they need to make more of them.

You've axed Taylor for Hohaia?

Surely you don't seriously think there is room for both Hohaia and Heremaia on the bench? Especially since both of them are horrendously out of form.

There is no way that Inu should be in the centres. The Mannering/Berrigan centres combo, with Taylor later, was defensively better than in previous weeks. Inu is NOT a defensive player.

Lewis Brown at 2nd row, was also pretty good shutting down those backline movements. In fact Brown has been just about the most consistent player over the last 4 weeks. He's played well every week as has Matalino.

I thought Tupou was really solid on the weekend as well. He showed he now has a bit of experience and he was solid. Ta'ai was good in bending that line. Maloney my man of the match. So much more agression than Seymour.

I think you'd keep the same team. Difference against easts might be Hohaia for Locke. Lance can play hooker, centre, 5/8 at a pinch and fullback. He is versatile and his strength is covering a wide range of positions. He is not a specialist in any one of them though. Makes him a good reserve. Locke was a half though wasn't he?

agree, Locke was a waste of a bench spot. Who was he going to replace ?

Locke's selection turned out to be pointless.

Heremaia needs to go, and I doubt Hohaia is his replacement. Certainly not this week.

Same team as last week - with Mara in for Heremaia and an extra forward, say Lousi, to the bench.

We have enough cover in the team to give Mara a break at hooker when required.

I'd go with that starting line up.

Reserves would be:
Definitly:
Rapira
Matulino

2 of:
Hohaia/Mara
Lousi/Latimore/Taylor

I don't think Inu is quick enough for a winger anymore. Looked good when he shifted in on Sunday. Realistically though, can't see any changes to the starting line up. Apart from Rapira/Matulino the reserves are anyone’s guess.

It does my head in that anybody would seriously be considering rushing Hohaia or Locke into the side or dropping Taylor

Yea agree with you Meth. I thought Taylor looked solid and did enough to keep his spot. His enthusiasm was awesome when he first came on for Luck and it carried through till the final whistle. No way should Hohaia come back in at his expense.

Fisiiahi
Tupou
Mannering (SKD's side)
Inu
Locke
Mateo
Maloney
Lillyman
Berrigan
Packer
Brown
Ta'ai
Luck

Rapira
Mara
Matulino
Taylor

Winning formula. As long as our forwards are on the front foot, keep bending the line with quickish play the balls then we'll do ok. Our backs have talent, just need the platform.

Tell me one think that Taylor done....just one. He's one of those guys with no real position.
Hohaia is class just out of form - he played bugger all trials, can cover Fullback, 6,7, 13(yes 13), centre.
Locke on the wing. Inu Centre.
Heremaia is better then Mara, there I said it. I admit the sharkies game wasn't he best but he's a tough bloke.

The thing is, his game v the Sharks was probably his best of the season. He is hopelessly off the pace

Why Mara though? Who has been watching him for the Vulcans.
Considering Darrin Kingi often plays better, so off that logic everyone should be calling for Kingi but no people are on the "Dump Heremaia put in Mara" bandwagon.
btw - Heremaia played better against the Eels.

I'm not knocking the guy, and he was solid bar his misread on Wade Graham.
He has a go head on his shoulders. To say he should be centre - big call.
Forgot about that.

(plus, i wouldn't put him at center, either, but i do like him in the 17)

That's it right there. He's out of form. Maybe its just that Taylor doesn't stand out amongst our big names but I'd definitely take an enthusiastic, young hard working utility to a 'veteran' who appears to be taking his place in the side for granted.
I'm against putting him at centre though, for now atleast I think he's best suited to a bench spot.

I keep thinking Taylor is too small to be in the second row, then I remember we have Brown. If he develops to be a type of player like Brown, then switching them on and off could be a really good way to get constant metres going. Who knows though, his tackle numbers were great but I don't remember any great runs from him.

I'll take any Warriors debut which isn't a total shocker, though.
