Vagana is never going to be effective . . .

. . . standing outside Bailey and Hilder. He was miles out of the action all night tonight. He needs to be running off Noddy or Peach, not standing outside second rowers/locks etc. Get him involved, there is an air of excitement everytime he touches it.

Vagana isnt getting enough ball and when the balls to be had its almost as if hes avoiding it. When he had the ball tonight and on many nights 95% of the time he threatens the opposition. The entire crowd hushes when he has the ball! Disappointing to see him miss that intercept in last minutes of game as well, I was waiting for a 90m dash by him, would have been great to watch him run past the stand I was in.

He definitely needs more ball, I don't think it will be long before he is breaking the line or making space for others.
He is showing glimpses of what he can do and needs to be more involved

dead set when the sharks were belting the bunnies line in the second half he was yelling out and waving his hands but it all fell on deaf ears. I wonder how he feels about it???

Vagana's still got the hunger for tries. You could tell he wanted one last night.
As long as he isnt frustrated he'll be right.

Thats what worrys me. I know one man aint any bigger than the team, but he deserves to get a bit more his way

As NthCronullalocal pointed out, maybe this is why Aitken had a switch of sides in the reserve grade game. He used to play mainly on the other side, but on Saturday he was feeding (not often enough), Vagana's side of the field.

Going on that performance I wouldn't promote him, but maybe Raper is starting to give the starving Vagana problem serious thought.

Problem is we lack another centre. We'd effectively be trading a forward for an outside back. I'd guess its a balance issue, and if we aren't going to play a proper 5/8, then I feel our forward depth is better than our centre depth, so I'd stick with Gallen / Hilder.

Nige nearly went 95m late in the game when he almost pulled in a stray bunnies pass.. That definitly would have brought the crowd to their feet and a smile to Vagana's face.

Hmm what about Gallen in the centres in attack
Vagana 5/8

Back to normal for defence

I like it.

Galls carved up when he played in the Centres against the Raiders. He's fit enough and fast enough.

Vags could get all the ball he wanted too.

Not 5/8th, just not outside the forwards. He should be hitting gaps for Noddy and Pech.

I think they are all still working out what the Nigel likes to do in attack.

It looks like the reason Vagana doesn't get the ball is because guys like Bailey, Hilder, Gallen etc don't know the line that he's going to run.

With Peach and Noddy it's a bit different. They seem to know what Vagana will do.

I thought Vagana looked very despondent on sat night. At one time I saw Kimmorley point to him for a play then threw the ball to the opposite side. I question what is going on when it appears that the ball is deliberately being played away from him consistently. Every time he does get a touch you can see that he oozes class. It is ridiculous not to plan more plays around him.
