Reefy i don't know why your giving to Vagana ... He played well today as did I thought Lomu was OK. Vagana tackled hard and what little chance he had ran well... We have no direction at all !! The dropped ball was a disgrace and that Simmons is the worst defender ive ever seen ... horrible.....!! You can't blame Nigel for around 10 dropped balls cold !! Give him a break..

i think reefy is justified in expressing concern over vagana given vaganas pay

i do think vagana is heavily marked and i have seen sullivan and in particulair kimmorley exploit that to our advantage - i would be interested if reefy had a response to this point

I agree he has been below par this season but yesterday he played ok .... He should have been under the post if Merritt had thrown a decent pass and in defence he hit hard ! Of the players yesterday there were easily 7 or 8 that were shocking and he wasn't one of them ..... Im just saying it looked like he came fired up to play - with BK and Peach yesterday I think we would have won again ... Guys he's a finisher not a play maker - If we can't even catch the ball how does he finish ??

Vagana has been dissappointing but I don't think he played as badly yesterday as some people are saying. He seemed more involved than he has in other games.

Merrit was by far our worst performer out there, he had a deadset shocker.

i dont expect much from merrit and i expect even less from simmons

i expect a great deal from our most experienced and caped back given his pay check

i dont see why a 350k player is vindicated by a 40k players poor performance

I like Vagana in attack.

BUT his defence is woeful, and I still reckon his shoulder is suspect. It has been ever since the early season, against the Cowboys I remember seeing him nurse it all game. This MAY be a reason his defence is so ordinary, but at $330K+ he needs to shape up, he's being shown up by $80K players at the moment.

Remember in the pre-season when someone (Beeks?) posted that Vagana would be out 'till round 18 because of his bung shoulder? And we all took the p!ss out of him?

I don't know who it was Millers. Could have been Frenzy or Reefy, I dunno. But it was one of the regulars.

Point isn't who said it...Point is, were they on the right track? We all lampooned the notion that our star signing was a lame duck, but with the benefit of hindsight I think there was clearly something to it.

vaganas shoulder operation was something that was reported widely

but he was back months before morpheus predicted

and in any case i am not convinced his poor form has anything to do with his shoulder - if it did why not just rest it

Millers, he has been a passenger on many occasions since he debuted with us. Plain and simple. He nurses his shoulder alot. Never leads with it. Might as well have taken until round 18 to make his debut for us, IMO. At least then the shoulder might have been right.

And if it was Morpheus, let's ask him WTF was going on!!!

i thought vagana had his best (ie most committed effort) game for the sharks yesterday. i don't agree he's beena complete dudd but do agree he hasn't been performing relative to his comparative money. having said that i still think vagana would be more useful if we got more ball and better ball to him ie when we get a 5/8

it's not really feasible to evaluate every player's performance based on what they're earning, once the contracts are done you've just got to pick the best team based on form and wory about money, etc at the next contract negotiation.

lomu really aimed up yesterday also and i feel pretty much the same about him as i do vagana.

merritt and simmons should go. aitken is a complete waste of an interchange spot with this current team selection. i just don't get it ???
