Vags input

Is it just me or does Nige look like he is enjoying the footy more when Noddy isnt there. I am not for one minute suggesting any sort of problem, it just seems that Vags seems keener to get involved when Brett is not there. I know he is experienced and he has to step up but it just seems like he is more keen to get involved.

Maybe I just notice it more because Noddy isnt there.

you cant say he was enjoying his footy because of the absence of noddy. i think generally that he has been playing well this season and enjoying it. have you come to this conclusion by watching the manly and penrith game? because i think if you watch all our games you'll see the same thing.

His involvement over the last five rounds has probably been double what it was last season. He is in the form that prompted us to buy him. Noddy has played 4 of the 5 past rounds. Nige's is getting some ball (bit more would be nice) and accordingly, he is doing his job - finding the gaps and stinging the opposition in defence.

Keep it up!

ive seen every game- numerous times. It just seems nigel gets more involved and feels as if he has the freedom to try things and go looking for the ball more often. I am NOT saying he isnt enjoying his football.

He is definately getting more involved. Line-breaks gallore over the past couple of weeks.

I think hes enjoying footy more than he did last year because of the fact that he has Simmons outside him. I recon he feels more confident now that Simmons has developed and is growing as a footballer rather than having to school him around...

Can't say I noticed, but geez I'm struggling to read your posts (roboshark), something is distracting me.

I dont think the issue is with BK not being there, its the fact that hes finally getting some ball! Its to early to tell, but my fingers are firmly crossed hoping that Vagana has hit some form again, those glimpses against the Panthers were mouth watering, and he stepped up in the critical stages of the match which was good to see.

I also think the fact that hes getting more ball is helping his confidence = enjoying football. The combination with Simmins is also going well. It might just be the same case as Ryan at the doggies, his first year or so were ordinary, but then he came out of his shell and where is he now!?!?

Just one thing, I wish hed stop kicking the damn ball! Im guessing theyve trained it, to utlize Simmons' speed, but I think he should be taking it up and using his talent, this would also make the kick less predictable

It is just you.

Everyone is enjoying their season and why wouldn't you. Everyone who is interviewed says how much they are enjoying playing with and being around the club.

Put your money on em lads and lasses!!

As for Niges kicking - I have two thoughts...
-he has definitley taken Simmo under his wing(no pun intended- but accepted), who is the fasted on most fields.

- Nige ha s always been one to try something. For the last twoyears all we could get is a dummy half run so I for one am happy to see something.
By the end of the year he should have a good bag of tricks and hopefully will be using them at the best time.

Can't believe everyone is missing it.

Nigel Vagana + 30 years old + 175 first grade games = senior player.

It is part of his job description to step up and assume more of a leadership role when the captain isn't there. Part of that means a higher involvement in the game. If you are playing well, as he is, and you are getting to do more then you'll obviously be enjoying yourself.

Elementary my dear forumites.

on a nother note. how did vagana not score himself in one of those 2 line breaks?

He tried on the second one but Wesser was just to fast for him and came in on a good angle.

his improvement mirrors that of the team overall. i do think the change since the return of dykes and the development of simmons and their partnertship are the major factors

Perhaps the forwards are laying a better platform this year and our backline is benefitting.
