Vale Roger Cowan OAM
Thu 5th October, 10:30AM
Following the passing of Roger Cowan OAM on Wednesday, Panthers Chairman Dave O'Neill has released the following statement:
"All of us at Panthers are deeply saddened by the passing of our friend and colleague Roger Cowan OAM.
"As CEO of Panthers from 1965 through to 2005, the longest leader in the club's history, Roger was a dedicated and passionate trailblazer.
"His entrepreneurial spirit and vision grew Panthers into the business it is today.
"His leadership was energetic and hands-on, and he gave great importance to the club's employees' interests, wellbeing and goals.
"His emphatic belief that the growth and success of the club could only be attributed to his colleagues and members made him one of a kind.
"On behalf of our Board of Directors, management team, our employees and members, we extend our deepest sympathies to the Cowan family."
"Icon is an over-used word, but if ever there was an icon in the licensed club industry it is Roger Cowan. He is one of those people who put Penrith on the map."
Former Panthers Chairman Barry Walsh
