Really surprised about the comprehensive victory overnight. I thought Bursaspor were going to put up a real challenge. The Turkish League is no SPL and Bursa are right back on top over there again this season. A great result for such a difficult away trip. Really makes me feel confident ahead of the Manpoo clash.

Tino Costa had a great game against Bursaspor. I mentioned this in the CL thread, but I really didn't think much of his signing. He played two seasons at Montpellier, the first was in Ligue 2 when he helped them get promoted, and his second last year when they surprised by challenging for CL spots. For someone already in his mid-twenties I thought it was a risky investment. But it looks like it might pay off.

Banega is injured, looks like it'll be a month out. Playing Hercules this weekend. They have to be taken seriously after their weekend victory over Barca. By all acounts we were disappointing against Racing last round. Emery seems to be preferring Aduriz as a starter over Soldado atm, which surprises me.

Brilliant game against them and the 4 nil was well deserved. we looked rusty on the weekend but as the new partnerships get game time they will come good.

Topal will be our break out star this year and hopefully with some luck we can finish off the "Nou Mestalla" and have money to use on players plus be able to retain our stars like Mata who will tke over from Silva

Really heart-breaking result this morning. Even one point wouldn't have done our performance justice. To lose is just devastating.

You hardly had a shot on target.

Lovely pretty football. No end product.

Soldano (sp?) is rubbish. You should start with that number 11. He looked better.

Good luck in the league.

Soldado is ok... he will get better as he goes along...

Barcelona 2 - Valencia 1

But what a performance this morning against the best team in the world, Valencia owned the first half and the goal was well derserved.

The second half was more to the side of Barca and the chances they got they took unlike valencia missing a few plus a pure sitter from Fernandes? but overall it was a awesome game prob best of the season so far.

Man of the Match - Cesar (Goalkeeper) Had a Massive game and kept barca to only 2 goals with some brilliant saves its a shame hes 39

The team looks like it is doing awesome considering the likes of villa and silva being sold, But seems to have sorta had a arsenal affect when they lost henry

When the finances are finalized i believe with a few more Quality player this team can become a real force and hopefully put a end to the 2 team domination of the last few years

NEXT GAME: Real Mallorca, 24 Oct (7:00am)

Not a lot of activity in this thread of late, and I guess there hasn't been a lot of things to be enthusiastic about with our sudden drop in form. From outplaying Manu (despite the unlucky lose) and competing valiantly with Barca to losing or drawing to a string of crappy teams. Damn, I wish we could play Bursaspor every week.

Hosting Almeria this round, they'll be in disarray after their 8-0 whomping from Barca, so I'll be disappointed if we don't score at least three or four goals, quite frankly.

You sound like Wolves in the EPL.

Gallant losers = Losers.
