Big call ronnie.

A lot have and will say Iggy pop was/is the ultimate front man.

How many lead singers can do back flips and are black belt in martial arts? not the all time best singer but the guy is certainly a performer.

Having just witnessed all 24kg's of Ronnie James Dio in full flight, I think Roth in comparison is still in Jersey Flegg. If you want gymnastics, go watch 8 year old girls in leotards.

Dio, 2 red cans, and the word "Hell". Supreme.

As for the Cure........I thought sh*t broke down after a few years.

(Pulling ya chain, Ron. Saw Dave solo circa '86 - great showman. Crapped on Vai big time.)

I've seen both live.
DLR was very good ..don't get me wrong.

but

Iggy got his dick out in front of about 30 thousand people. He played a whole song with his guitar strung up high so everyone could see it.
That is dedication.

I was sad to hear that Michael Anthony was no longer in the band, but I really don't think he contributed much anyway. His bass solo on the 5150 tour consisted of 3 notes and a litre of Jack Daniels.

I note that they didn't invite Billy Sheehan to tour.

Ahh, thought it might have been back in the Danny Sugerman days.

The same danny sugerman who wrote the biography on 'Guns n Roses' having never met them?

ahh Misty you know your stuff, good to have people on this board who know what they're talking about;-)

Billy Sheehan? he was with Diamond Dave for a while wasn't he? didn't follow him closely but he did well in a few bands didn't he?

Billy's forged a pretty neat career being the Satriani of bass players, touring with Vai in G3 for ages. He did a stint with Dave (on Skyscrper from memory), and I don't recall any memorable moments on that album. However, playing bass for VH wouldn't limit the field to Steve Harris, Geezer or Tom Hamilton. Wolfgang is probably really good at Metalwork at school, and is probably in the soccer team, but Dad has been at him to practice "You Really Got Me".

Wolfgang touring with VH is probably Eddies version of a weekend fishing trip.

I'll be interested to see how Wolfgang goes. Dave also has a massive wrap on him so he must be talented. I'm sure eddie got to him young.

I think VH done the right thing, they're risking alot but obviously know what they're doing...............................................................hmmm

I don't mind either way, whether it's Wolf or Anthony or whoever, if their ego's stay in check long enough for them to make it out here, I'll only be going to watch and listen to Ed anyway.

I've seen ed in 97 and he was quite sensational, but just would love to see Diamond Dave in action.
