Please don't leave Vella? [-o<

You are a great player and one of Parramatta's favourite sons.

BTW Jake you are insane if you think Vella is shit.

Hits the ball up hard- yes

Tackles like a girl- Yes

Bludges and is constantly exposed at maker- yes

Gets steamrolled by Wingers like Jason Moodie- Yes

I hate bagging the club, players or coach but here is one guy that shits me to the limit. Undoubted potential, rare talent with size and speed- but IMHO does not play anywhere near his ability. Face it, as far as props go he is soft.

What's the point of breaking the defensive line and rushing down field on a kick chase if you miss the tackle. There is no point. I can't cop how guys like Webcke, Price, O'Meley, Stevens, Clinton etc....can play 60-80 minutes per week and play hard from start to finsih- where Vella becomes lazy after 5 minutes and is looking for a breather.

I'm not normally one to bag anyone- but if you want a forward pack to be feard than the first bloke out would be Vella- he's a soft as they come.

The thing you have to look at is the top 4 money earners at each club- these are generally the guys who the team is built around. Our big 4 apart from Hindy are outplayed by our middle-feeders week in week out. That's a disgrace.

Stapleton, Armit, Tsolous, Pearson and even Peek have all been outplaying Vella on a weekly basis- bar maybe the last 3 weeks which have been Vellas best in a while.

Same goes for Cayless- great leader he is- but he spends more time on the sidelines through injury and suspension than he does on the field- and when he is on the field he is usually getting match fitness back and playing below his best.

So assuming Hindy, Cayless, Vella and Dykes are our 4 biggest earners and thus taking up a large part of our cap- are they worth it or are there better options available?

Cayless is a good leader so depending on how he goes next year i'd at least give him that year to see how he goes. Another long term injury/suspension/poor form and i'd get rid of him.

Hindy is a weapon- absolutely deserves to be our highest paid player.

Dykes- at least his played more games this year than he's missed and is the best half option at the club at present.

Vella- Can't say he's consistently our best prop- should be offered a cut-price deal or shipped off.

If he has to make way for Pritchard or some one similar, then he can go.

BS said he will agressive in buying big name players, so the money has to come from somewhere.

And as to him still being under contract, haha

means nothing nowdays
