3 or 4 years ago Vella was our best player. How you guys can go from supporting the bloke to saying he's "crap" and we should get rid of him is beyond me. When he plays well you support him, when he's out of form you wanna get rid of him. Yet at the same time you criticize Lyon for enjoying Parramatta when we were winning, and wanting out when we're struggling.

Vella was never our best player!!!!!

Despite all of the crap- -he is one of our most experienced players. Losing him wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing, but his relacement had better be bloody good - and better than Frank Pritchard. I'm thinking Origin front rower standard.

Quite easily, he has gone from being one of our best players to an ordinary player, I wouldn't say he is crap now but 6 weeks ago he was.

if we can get some one better for the money we are paying him, why wouldn't we.

I think Vella would make a good 2nd rower, is very mobile and if he pulls his finger out is a good player, but i doubt we will let him go.

I want to help Vella pack his bags and if he is going to England I will drive him to the airport free of charge

our first local junior to represent Australia since Brett Kenny - Yes!

I dunno what it is with Vella, but no doubt he has the ability to be one of the best props in the game. Just that pretty often he doesn't play up to his standard.

But in my opinion, he is the best kick-off returning prop in the game.

90% of the time vella plays with little niggling injuries which affect the way he plays. we shouldnt be baggin him because he has deadset put his finger up and tried his heart out. I want him to continue to play they way he does and lately has outplayed all the other forwards in certains aspects of the game.

There is no doubt he is getting paid more than he should be, when you consider his form that is. That said, we shouldn't simply get rid of him. He's done enough for us over the years that he should be offered a reduced contract next year, rather than no contract at all. We need to be loyal to our players if we expect them to be loyal in return.

Well I don't believe Vella's contract is not up for renewal yet, he has a year to go....and I don't believe its right to ask anyone to take a pay cut cos the teams not winning and they aren't doing enough.

anyone here willing to take a pay cut in their job because some people think you aren't doing enough work?....i don't think so

So what's fare value for Vella?

$200K-$250K ?

I think he has the heart of hindy but his body just won't let him get away with it like hindy. Vella doesn't have a swaying back or big butt!!

Gee a couple of weeks ofgood footy since 2001.

Do you realise what you just said??

What an investment he was. Free up the money please Brian and allow him to move on.

He's not going anywhere according to Mark Riddell. Didn't he site Vella as one of the players he's looking forward to playing with?

Tranny has lost hi deep passion for the game even though he has improved this year- however i dont think opposition players fear him too much in any way at all- he is soft in certain ways- but while i think injuries may have affected his play , he has lost his leadership and growth as a player- in fact he has gone down hill- i love the bloke but facts are facts Smithy loves him Freshy and Wags so i think i have to learn to love them and hope to god Smithys judgement is better than mine!

Can you go with him Jake

In all seriousness the form of Micky V of late is getting back to his best, now that he is finally injury free. As mentioned if he was to be replaced the replacement better be damn good

All this is with hindsight but...

If Michael Vella and Jason Cayless were on the market now, which one should Parra sign ?

In 2001, we paid the $$$$$$$ for one and let the other go.
