Anyone who can find a negative from the past 6 weeks is very hard to please.
The whole team has played for each other, they have been building in confidence and I cannot see anyone beating us again this season providing we have no more major injuries.

Flanagan really impressed me yesterday. Kept our linespeed strong and we looked a little bit off the pace when he was replaced.

He is indicative of the systems in place this season with every player from NYC or State Cup called upon making the step up and fitting in. That is what successful football clubs are built upon.

Regardless of our result this finals series we have been our best as a club, barring a small period of sooking over contracts we have been in almost every game. Compare this to 2006 when we had less injuries but lost our bundle completely

I have been one of Lui's biggest critics...but i found myself saying, over the last couple of games..."gee Lui is playing good"...

Although...I have never denied his ability, but i just didn't think he had the heart or will to play 1st grade...but i think he has turned it around over the last few weeks...

Ryan Solid, Moltzen was good, Marshall always good and the forwards did there job without Ellis there....

Solid performance leading into the final 2 rounds

IMO it was a typical WT performace against a lower ranked side, skipped out to a 16 point lead even after the Eels had a heap of early ball but they couldn't score, "almost" did thanks to Utai's turning circle, but no cigar........Then the Eels had abt 80% of the ball early in the second half & crossed twice, (I hate tries being scored off lottery bombs, should only be worth 2 or 3 points IMO but thats a story for another day), then WT switched back on & the result never really looked in doubt from then on.....Can't wait to see Lawrence & Ellis back, throw in Loti & look out

I noticed that some times Moltzen would get the ball & pass it to one of the wingers, but the wingers (yesterday) have been passing it back to himto take the run:lol:, not sure if this is a plan or some payback?

I noticed him out there as well. He really adds to the team doesn't he.

With Farah on front foot forwards played direct. Enthusiasm and commitment from the team, allowed Benji to do his thing. High balls were caught on full, except 1 but Brown at least made an effort. Moltzen finally joined in and actually attacked giving Benji more options - much much better. Aysford awoke from slumber also. This was best effort from TEAM especially in defence so far, considering there was no Ellis, Lawrence or Tiquiri. 2 points is 2 points but 1 word of caution - remember exactly where Parra lies on table but the winning feeling is certainly infectious at last!

Getting a bit carried away here. We did enough to beat a pretty ordinary side. Just as against the Panthers. We played good footy against Manly and played ourselves into a little bit of form. The Dragons game we were red hot - they came to play that night. The Lui and Ayshford trys are pretty decent examples. Not one shoulder in sight, and Hayne actually released Ayshford looking for the strip. They're a better side than that, bu their season is over.

Two relatively easy games coming up before the finals. We should win both, hopefully with a physical contest against the Sharks. Sheens should have us on the boil for week 1. He's good at that.

Re: Gibbs... it's ridiculous how much his presence coincides with the flow of the game. It doesn't help that Galloway is off at similar times. Gibbs really needs to be playing more than 40 though. He said the other day he's capable of 60 or 80. I'd prefer to see that. We also need Payten to get himself up to speed.

Wonder if Sheens is keeping his minutes down to (a) get Payten (and Groat) more time and/or (b) rest Gibbs before the finals? Seems to be handing out the minutes a lot more evenly than previously.

I've been trying to figure it out, but I've got no idea. He's got the right sort of rotation... if we had 4 top line props. Groat and Woods, potential though they have, just aren't even close to the top two. You can rely on Gibbs to be fit, so maybe, as you said, he's just trying to get the others up to speed.

No doubt that Sheens is gradually trying to give Woods and Groat more game time. This will be of great benefit to us throughout the finals series and even greater benefit to us for next season and beyond.
Aaron Woods ball carries are great, we lose nothing in that regard when he`s on the field. Groat is also improving with each game he plays and you can sense he is slowly starting to believe he`s not just in first grade to make up the numbers, but there to help influence the end result for us in a positive way.
