i think UTC have a bigger area and perhaps more support

and the thinking is that hopefully some of the french players already in the super league will play for them when they enter

Who ever lines up in RSL will field a vastly different side to that of which plays in Elite 1, for starters players will become full time proffesionals so that club will be able to pick the eyes out of the French competition

Also one must remeber RSL is played throughout the Summer months were as the French championships are played in the winter.

Villenouve is a town the size of Dubbo. UTC come from Perpignan, more the size of Wollongong. More importantly they will be representing the Catalan region, a group of people who consider themselves distinctly different from the French.

Also add to the fact that UTC:

- Has the backing of around 3 big businesses from France for their Super League bid

- Has already guarenteed 2 million pounds which is being put in a 'safe fund' which is monitored by the RFL which can be used to help the club if it ever runs into financial difficult.

- Is more in the 'league heartlands'

Good luck with it (the HSC) mate.

I'm not up to date with the French league, but I'd assume anyone joining SL would have the money and the capacity to recruit. I wouldn't even be surprised to see a few Aussies crossing. Nice place to live. Good money. It's an even better retirement plan than heading to England. :)

Well being in the South of France it shouldn't be 2 hard to get super stars to want to go there, A.Johns anyone imagine what he could do for the proffile of the game right through out the South of France.

One thing though it will be important that the side isn't filled with Australians as this maybe are right turn off for the Frogs.
