R20 who makes the side next week? in your opinion

Depends if Sam/Tom are back. Depends on Bryson and AJ injuries.

Due to our injuries we don't have much depth.

I wasn't impressed with Oldfield. He will probably keep his spot though.

Imo Rsag Cook has to start with Cam on the bench. Or at least Madge has to bring Cook on earlier like after 25mins and not wait until 50mins then bring him on.

Cook adds lots of spark. Cam is just so slow at dummy half. Any momentum we get stops as he's not quick enough.

Also I would play Carter off the bench. He's an impact player. Carter has too many errors and penalties in him to start. He's either been very good starting or very bad. There is no in between with him so you don't know what to expect.

I'd probably have Grevsmuhl starting in the back row. I know he has a knock on in him and sometimes questionable defence but he adds much needed power to our pack with his runs and offload in him plus he can find the tryline too. I think at the start of the match we need this energy. No use bringing Grevs on like we did today and the games already done.

I'll give my side assuming Bryson, AJ are out. Plus Tom is in but Sam imo will be back Round 6:

1. GI
2. Oldfield (gulp)
3. Auva'a
4. Hunt
5. Gray
6. Cody
7. Keary
8. G. Burgess
9. Cook
10. Tyrrell (he's got to lift or will be dropped for Round 6)
11. Grevsmuhl
12. Turner
13. Brown

14. McInnes (use him in back row)
15. Clark
16. Carter
17. T. Burgess

18. Gosiewski
19. Nielsen (double gulp)

Unfortunately our depth is just thinner than previous years.

If Sam plays Tyrrell must miss out imo.

Madge is stubborn though as we know. Madge needs to be more ruthless this season. Tyrrell should miss out if Sam and Tom are back as he was the worst forward on field today. He didn't cut the mustard.

So with Sam a late inclusion:

1. GI
2. Oldfield
3. Auva'a
4. Hunt
5. Gray
6. Cody
7. Keary
8. G. Burgess
9. Cook (wake up Madge he should start)
15. Clark
11. Grevsmuhl
12. Turner
23. S. Burgess

13. Brown
14. McInnes
16. Carter
17. T. Burgess

but didn't the medical staff decide he wasn't ready???
I don't think the we've been offered any explanation whether it was the medical staff, the coaches or even Sam himself who decided that he wasn't ready to play

i wish we kept him too. he'll play for qld soon, but penrith payed overs for him though, so if madge matched the offer, he would have had to let go of a good player
Well I would certainly have prioritised keeping him over someone like Kyle Turner. I remember reading that Grevsmuhl wanted to stay at Souths but the club didn't offer him what he was after. If I were running this, he'd be one of the first players that I would have resigned. I mean the fact that we had money to chase James Roberts and sign Dane Nielson suggests to me that we could have kept him if we wanted to.

I want to see Cook play the full 80. I think the side would be better off with him on the field for all of the match.

Fox sports said after the game that AJ will be back for next week hopefully there right.

Tom and Sam should be back and Goodwin might miss out due to injury.

I've never quite understood why someone like Cook can't play the full 80 - even if you have to put him out on the wing when defending to give him a bit of a rest. The only reason for playing too hookers is if each of them offers something different. Granted, both McInnes and Cook are different players but McInnes form hardly warrants a spot in first grade. I'd like to see us play two front rowers and two back rowers off the bench.

are you trolling or just stupid like most roosters supporters??? most nrl teams would lose having 5 of its top players out

Musgrove is in our best team too imo. He's a talent with a bright future in NRL.

Ignore these trolls alien. I am.

In a post on here I said well played Dogs.

I said enjoy it Dogmatix.

I can accept we were outplayed fair and square.

Too many trouble causes in here.

I'm enjoying the Souths talk though.

Cook has proven that he can play the full 80 with his time at the dogs. I think McInnes has been playing well but I don't understand why we need two hookers in the side when you have Carter in the side who can cover that position as well.

Clark is not a prop

Well mate Tyrrell made 1 hit up for 12m today and that's unacceptable. If Sam is back I would drop Tyrrell. Sam must play at lock though as that's his best position over prop.

Madge uses Clark as a prop off the bench anyway. I'm sure you've noticed this. In the trials Clark started at prop and did better than Tyrrell there.

Today Clark made 10 hit ups for 78metres.

He is better option at starting prop than Tyrrell.

Or maybe Madge starts Brown at prop if Sam is back. But then our bench would lose impact.

I don't think McInnes offer us enough direction. However, I do agree that Cook should be playing the full 80. I felt that with the interchange being cut down to 6 in the off season, most clubs would be getting their hookers to play the full game.

Souths Pride Madge obviously sees things we don't re Grevsmuhl. He's never been keen on him. Maybe Madge didn't think Grevsmuhl was worth giving more money too like say 350k a year. Madge obviously thinks we can use that money better. Maybe it's salary cap pressure
With Sam getting more next season.

Remember we do have Musgrove and Gosiewski coming through.

Agree. Cook has to play 80. Why do you reckon Madge isn't doing this????

Hopefully AJ is good to go as well.

McInnes really was slow today out of dummy half passing the ball. He killed any bit of momentum.

Rsag when Cook came on we were a different team.

I think he is happy with the job that Mcinnes is doing the only thing is I think we would be a better attacking side with a running hooker in Cook it worked for us in the past with Issac and Api coming off our bigger forwards and I think it would bring GI more into the game with Cook using his speed out of dummy half and linking with GI in attack.

Which of our forwards disappointed you the most R20?

You mean cut down to 8 :lol:

Cook definitely gives better direction for the side.

I would like to hear Doyens views on our halves at the moment as he was the one calling for both of them to be ahead of Reynolds in the off season.

I agree completely with your thoughts.

Tyrrell most disappointed me. Only made 1 hit up. Unacceptable that is.

Next disappointing was Carter who dropped the ball way too many times. 4 or 5 knock ons it was. Plus he let a soft try in. I think it was the second Dogs try.

Also Carter lost the ball in goal leading to a Dogs try.

Improbably missed other ordinary things Carter did today.

The thing with Carter is he's either very good or terrible. There isn't an inbetween and that's a concern.
