vs Panthers

Refs tried everything to get the Panthers a shot at the end. In the end, not a bad score considering the weather, it's about right for a side sitting where the Panthers are, minus their origin folk. Our backline structure looked pretty shocking though..

Those referees were an absolute nightmare, so for that alone, similar to a win at Penrith a few years ago when Shayne Hayne tried to destroy, its a very satisfying win. Great to see them stick to a fairly decent wet-weather game plan. Well controlled by Johnson, Vatuvei was good (how he hasn't got a hattrick beside his name is beyond me), Matulino was great, Mateo outstanding. Terrific win.

No, it's not. I also don't understand why they can't play more minutes.

Not sure how many minutes they played, but Matulino ran for 230m tonight (!) and Packer 170m. Lousi was 40m and Lillyman was 90m- so looks like we got our best props out there doing the lion's share of the work for once.

Great to see Matulino rack up the huge numbers to go alongside his obvious impact. Also, is it just me or is Lillyman pretty ineffective atm?

Yes. Refs terrible. I thought we played very well, considering the conditions. Aside from a 10 minute period, and particularly in the second half, we controlled the game.

230 and 170 metres... WTF

I knew Packer was having a great game, but sheesh I didnt realise Matulinos were that high. Where do you you get those stats?

Seemed fairly spot on to me. It seemed to me if Matulino wasn't hitting it up, Packer was, and if they weren't, Mateo was. Those three were absolutely awesome out there.

Dreamteam. Ben has 23 run metre points and Packer has 17 (Mateo also has 17 which is huge for a guy who plays his role). Subject to change but they don't usually change much.

The other one that seemed like he was going forward at a rapid rate of knots was Brown * proved wrong by stats*

Matulino 233 (2 offloads)
Mateo 177 (2 offloads, 1 line break, 2 try assists)
Packer 172 (2 offloads)

f**king domination from those three.

Will be interesting to see the breakdown of minutes played which comes after the stats are adjusted (so those ones aren't entirely accurate)

Thought we looked a little tired in the final 10 despite that last try though, and don't remember seeing Louisi before the final 20.

presumably the manu haters can f**k off and stick it up their collective arses sideways.

Well, technically he came up with a typical error tonight by failing to complete the simple task of forcing a ball which was already on the ground. Worse than his errors last week for mine....

to be fair i didn't see the game, i was going off the rather strange herald updates. was that the one the commentators thought was a try but wasn't given? i saw it on sky news from a single angle and it looked legit.

I guess the Manu fanboys can all celebrate Vatuvei actually doing the job a winger should, without costing his team the game....off you go
ladies and enjoy, you've been waiting awhile for game, where your full arsenal of excuses aren't needed.

Yep. Was great to see them get the type of minutes they should be. And not only that, but they were so involved in our offensive sets. Absolutely dominated when they were on the park!

Of course, we were playing against possibly the smallest forward pack in the NRL. Why Galea was playing ahead of someone like Aychurch i don't know. But still, i hope they get minutes like that for the rest of the season.

This is a breakthrough season for Packer, imo.

Also, is it just me or is Lillyman pretty ineffective atm?
Yeah, looks like Packer's passed his handbrake onto him. Current stats still have him averaging 11 metres per run, though, which is a bit surprising.

Glad we won but most of the other NRL sides would have had us for breakfast tonight.
Why cant we have completion rates like that on a dry track? And it was a worry when Penrith got those three quick trys it looked to be all over but two points is two points so I'll go to bed drunk and happy.
