yeah but they say the same shit every week. there was even a post that said souths would be coming last if every ref decision was fair, lol

Spot on alien fully agree with that.

We have had a bad run with the refs this year imo. We have lost a lot of penalty counts.

When a player from the opposing team should be sin binned it never happens!

Grant – Room for Improvement

Tim Grant, may have been pleased to get the two points against the Panthers in Round 21, but there’s still much room for improvement according to the prop-forward as the Rabbitohs prepare to take on the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval this Friday.
“I don’t think it was our best performance, that’s for sure,” said Grant.
“Our completion rate in the first half wasn’t great – so we’re going to have to look at the game and fix a few things up, that’s for sure.
“Every team’s pretty equal in the NRL and it’s a tough game – it doesn’t matter who you play. They (Penrith) sort of threw the ball around – it was hard to play against.
“But two points is two points. They’re so valuable in the NRL.”
“We all believe here in our structure and what we need to do. It’s just completing sets and sticking to our structure.”
The Rabbitohs completed 29 out of 40 sets against the Panthers on their way to a 20-16 victory described by Head Coach Michael Maguire as ‘clunky’.
But while there’s plenty to work on, Grant and his men are looking no further than this Friday night against the Sea Eagles in the first of their last five games of the season.
The Sea Eagles are flying high at the moment, having defeated the first-placed Brisbane Broncos in Round 21 by a whopping 44-14.
“For us we’ll be looking at Manly this week because we’re playing against them,” said Grant.
“It’s like every week – whoever we play against we’ve got respect for and it’s a tight competition. Anyone can beat anyone you’ve just got to be on your game.”

Burgess Proud of Team Character

Rabbitohs front rower, George Burgess, was proud of the character his team showed against the Penrith Panthers over the weekend to grab victory at ANZ Stadium in Round 21, but more of the same will be needed this week against the Sea Eagles.
After taking control of matches against the St George Illawarra Dragons and the Newcastle Knights in consecutive weeks, the Rabbitohs fought hard to seal victory against the Panthers after being down 12-0 early in proceedings thanks to an explosive opening from the visitors.
With the contrast of the previous weeks in mind, Burgess emphasised that no two games are the same and stressed the need for his team to be prepared for all challenges when they take on the resurgent Manly Sea Eagles outfit this Friday night.
“Every week is different – teams are going to throw different things at you,” said Burgess.
“We’ve always got to be able to adjust during games – adjusting to the situation around you, and I thought we did that (last week),” said Burgess.
The Rabbitohs will be looking to continue their winning ways when they return to Brookvale Oval for the first time since Round 7 of the 2013 season.
But Burgess and his teammates are under no illusions about the task ahead of them. The Sea Eagles come into Round 22 flying high after an emphatic 44-14 demolition of competition front-runners, the Brisbane Broncos on the Central Coast.
“They’ll be a very hungry team like they’ve shown in the past weeks,” said Burgess.
“They’ve been putting some good performances against some high quality teams- we’ve definitely got our work cut out (for us).”
Burgess was prominent for the Rabbitohs against the Panthers, running for 170 metres with ball in hand and completing 36 tackles in his 54 minutes on the field.

I must have nodded off when the Gray incident occurred----didn't even know it happened.

Was it picked up by the refs??

I think the video refs picked up on it as play stopped for 2mins.

We got lots of bad calls against us in the match though in general from Cecchin.

In the first half Reyno took a quick tap 10metres out from the try line and Latimore for Penrith was only back 2 metres so Maxwell penalised Penrith again.

Imo that should have been a sin bin and re-watching the match back ch 9 thought so too in their half time wrap.

The Penrith markers were constantly offside too and didn't get penalised.

We got 9 penalties but definitely could have got a lot more as Penrith infringed so much.

Belief is Key - Gray

Rabbitohs outside back, Aaron Gray, says that belief among the Club’s playing group is playing a vital role for the team ahead of this week’s round 22 encounter with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Brookvale Oval.
After the Rabbitohs hard-fought 20-16 win against the Penrith Panthers in round 21, Gray believes that the team’s ability to maintain its composure in tough situations is paying dividends and is only improving.
“It was a tough win against the Panthers,” said Gray.
“We made it hard for ourselves, but it was good that we could keep with them and keep grinding away to get the two points.”
“When we do get behind, everyone is pretty calm and focused and we do believe that we can come back.”
In addition to the belief and morale generated from the tough win against the Panthers, Gray believes that the resilience of returning forward, Kyle Turner – after being taken from the field in his come-back game – has provided the team with an additional spark leading into the clash with the Sea Eagles.
“The ‘Big Dog’ (Kyle Turner) is a really tough, humble kid – he’s confident that he can get back this week,” said Gray.
“He suffered that neck injury at the start of the year and after his surgery he’s ticked all of the boxes to get back here. We’re very excited to have him back on the field.”
Gray – a local junior with the Mascot Jets – has re-signed with the Rabbitohs until 2017 after a series of impressive performances on the wing, which has seen him score 7 tries in 11 games this season.
