I missed the start, why did Laumape not play?

Hurrell was embarrassing. TL is a plodder.

Hoffman is a very fine player

Our outside back stocks aren't bad- but we've got the injuries to the wrong guys, and the ones who're there are lacking in form or experience for the most part )except wright, who's actually crap). Put Laumape and Tomkins in there and they'd improve 150%. The other problem is the age old Warriors one- patience and composure, from the whole side.

At least I'm not gonna blame SJ this week, was pretty happy with most of his game today.

Kata could have all the potential in the world but if he can't pass to his winger then he can't play centre.

It was actually the one time he should of dummied and gone himself!
He is young and seems to give it 100%, even driving back Chambers in the dying minutes. He just needs to learn to read the game like numbers and draw and pass stuff, the barge over/through doesn't work to often in top grade unless you are a real tank.

On the plus side, Lillyman had his best game this year, Matulino was good again, and the back row good too - forwards going reasonably (imo hooker aside) - backs shithouse

We're shit, every team has injuries but they have depth. Wright needs to go... Period. Kata can go back to NSW Cup to remember how to pass.
ST we need you back! Lolohea to center.
Hurrell needed a game in NSW Cup, he wasn't match fit
Is Johnson injured?

What the hell did Wright do wrong in this game? If anything, the two wingers were pretty good. SJ needs a spell in Reserves. He was trying, don't get me wrong. But how many tries can you blow in two weeks without consequences?

Kata is too inexperienced and has too many errors. Hurrell.....that's gotta be his worst game in attack and defense. He isn't up to it.

I said it last week and I stick by it, we will not win till Tompkins gets back.

Benek, that same post could have been written in 1995, 2000, 2005...or any other year. Just swap a few names around and it applies.

What a shit way to end Easter for us all, especially after the long, drawn out wait.

As for the coach, unlike the last two we've had I don't detect any division on this forum in regard to Cappy being there. I detect most of us genuinely want him to succeed and that he's the right person for the job, right now.

I'm pretty sure most want to see stability in the coaching position after the turnstile approach the club has taken, in the hope we can attract a higher profile coach one day down the track.
Because at the end of the day, the results have been the same so far under Cappy as Elliot.

2014: L(a), L(h), W(a), W(h), L(a)
2015: L(a), W(a), W(h), L(h), L(a)

If the instructions to Hurrell and friends from the coach was offload at every chance, then Cappy deserves a bullet, but he can not be blamed for simple drop balls and forward passes ( maybe if he wants the wingers to play flat?) As those are basic skills to teach under 10's.

Also we need to settle the f**k down (composure) thinking we need to create something on the first 3 tackles.
I don't know if the youth has a rush of blood or under 20's flash backs. So leadership may not be getting respected on field?

14 errors all up.
We won the penalty count 7-3
Completion rate at 60%

Storm not at their best tonight either, just had passes stick and a few moments of individual brilliance.

Yeah, no love for Wight here - I get that, but only Matulino and Lillyman made more metres, he did nothing much wrong, he wasn't brilliant, but he wasn't Hurrell...

Problem is 9, 7, 6, and notably Hurrell.... and as a team, dumb stuff, Melbourne just played a solid game and we folded

Wright seemed to be on the end of some bad passes, which could of been his positional play if we want to stretch to blame him for something, he did very little wrong other than not be a big island boy winger like the others out there! He ran for over 100m which I was shocked as didn't see him much in the second half. Pity he got the run down on his intercept.
He made the least errors of the outside 4.

I think the brains trust as they say is not out there.
Forwards pretty much did their job, the backs let them down.

The problem is that the best thing you can say about him is that he wasn't horrible tonight - and that was his best game. And while we may have a lot of injuries to backs, there are still better options in Peyroux and Allwood at least. There aren't really any better options for our 6, 7 or 9

Our backs are decent, just inexperienced and injured. Kata will come right long term we we need a fit laumepe, fusitua and fish back.

Just a crap performance all around, there were moments where we looked threatening but it was all thrown away far too easily by forcing dumb passes and just poor ball carries. Fundamental stuff.

Lolohea doesn't really know what he's doing at the back and Johnson again had a bad day although he was definitely trying harder. Thought the hookers and Townsend went ok. Wright getting some hate but he didn't really do anything terribly bad, he's just ordinary. Hoff was quiet. Hurrell WTF.

We're in our very familiar limbo space of floundering around with reasonable talent strapped together with blu-tac. A few more nothing performances like that and we'll be scrapping to make the eight yet again for 4 years in a row.

We're gonna struggle without Tomkins, just the way it is. He's the one that pretty much runs and dictates how effective we are on attack. At least Matulino has looked good this season.

That makes the golden boot a bigger joke than it already is

I don't think we looked ineffective on attack against the Storm. Very poor execution, but actually created a lot of good opportunities. Bombed some tries with bad passes and dropped balls. Tomkins coming back won't suddenly make everyone else's passing crisper and fingers stickier. If we can learn to execute what we have we'd be able to find a lot of wins even when Tomkins is out.

Yeah we miss Tomkins at the moment but he couldn't have done anything about the butter fingers all over the place. All that free ball we coughed up is what hurt us the most.

I cannot understand the apathy about Wright and his spot in the team from some people (who are fully entitled to their opinion, just I don't get it)

He made 112m from what I can see - 40 odd of which was a gift-wrapped intercept where he showed no toe, another 20 in clear field when he was again mowed down easily, and that leaves bugger all else.

His direct opponent was clearly the best player on the field, which is a bad start. Koroibete's first try I don't know if there would've been DNA evidence that Wright even tried to tackle him, it was that soft. No it can't have been easy outside a lazy prick like Hurrell but he was still exposed on a few occasions. Dropped ball, and the cote de gras (sp) was his pathetically weak effort to score in the final second. Any player with half a ticker would've at least dived in to try ground the ball, forget the score.

That final act would be enough for me to say you're gone. Cappy had the perfect opportunity to play Laumape - a guy who is a good defender, has heart, gains metres etc - but went for the vanilla option. Which is going to get us absolutely nowhere in 2015 or any time for that matter.

I can't be accused of being a hindsight expert as I said ad nauseum pre-season he was a poor buy. And I also said Konrad's form after signing a contract would be lazy. I don't back him to be a bonafide NRL player at our club. Too many distractions and young culture BS
