The reality is in the offical statements, statements you seem to think say something different than they actually do.
Yes the reality is in the statements from vlandys and other commissioners

but as usual you are just ignoring it

this delusion is just setting yourself up for a bigger fall later

the reality is the commission is lukewarm towards a stand alone Perth team and most of the media isn’t in favour of it nor are the broadcasters

ok show me a statement from any one from the nrl that says pasifika will be the next team and they aren’t looking at other options as well. We await a quote.

yeh I can see broadcasters won’t like the idea of Australias 4th largest capital city and instead prefer the idea of a pasifika team that will drive zero additional viewers or advertisers. Makes total sense lol

tv: nrls expanding would you like to increase your advertising
bunnings: great which major new population group will it be reaching?
tv: err, png, tonga and samoa
bunnings: click
tv: hello? Hello ?

Show me a statement where the commission has shown ANY interest in a Perth team not involving the bears

as for comments about png they’ve been posted and discussed previously

they have asked the government to confirm funding of 20 to 25 million pa

when all the momentum was with Perth they should’ve done a deal with the bears and effectively tied up the 18th spot not mucked around and let other bids come over the top

The last offical comment from vlandys, hardly sends a resounding favourite message does it?

The federal government are very keen for us to look at the Papua New Guinea-Pasifika solution, where there would be a PNG team with all the Pacific nations,” V’landys told The Continuous Call team.

“We’ll certainly, out of respect to the government, look at that. And that would be 2025 if that was to occur.

But there are plenty of other options.”
Reads as - "We kinda have to pretend we're looking into it to not be rude, but we do have all these other options as well"

The NRL hasn't officially called for bids, what is there to tie up? Only drummed up interests via a few strategic comments

Officially they are still "assessing their options"

I’m not claiming perth are faves or that they are the only team they are now looking to. You are with pasifika so show us the offical staments this is based on. The ones I’ve shown you clearly show the nrl is still considering all options.

when the commissioner said they want to be a national competition what do you think she meant?

of course Vlandys wants the bears, he’s an archaic Sydney dinosaur like the rest of you. He thinks playing games at LO is a good idea Ffs!

By that logic Perth is also a failed club

so putting in another team in Perth is a no go lol
You got him there.
Lol. "The criteria"

If you want a better idea of how legitimate that criteria was, read 'Never Say Die' by George Piggins.

TL,DR: The biggest mistake the Bears made was not moving to their new home ground 12 months earlier and not being a SL club.
Had they successfully moved to CC, there would be a Bears today, I have no doubt.

I don’t expect the NRL to follow through on any Pacific or PNG bid. I feel like it is a deliberately placed headline that helps keep the bids that they want to hear from on their toes.

The WA Govt meanwhile are still supportive of a new club and I haven’t really heard anything formal about a NZII, Brisbane/Ipswich are still there. I have those as the favoured NRL options.

IF nrl is serious about a 20 team comp, and it’s a very big IF given track record on expansion, I’d say perth, brisbane3 and nz2 would be the most likely three. Probably perth then nz2 then Brisbane3 (if news ltd allow it).

Vlandys isn’t even from Sydney lmao

the funniest thing is you have this vision of how you want the nrl to look and time and again it keeps getting crushed

nine and fox don’t want Perth
The commission only wants Perth is they join with the bears
News ltd articles rarely mention Perth in a positive light

read the room

Perth will probably get a team later on but their changes as being next have eroded markedly

You need to get your facts correct, there was no criteria and how can you stay in a merger when there were conspirators within aka messers Arthurson and Fulton who had grand plans of their own which eventually came to fruition.
There was a criteria

Norths failed the solvency criteria ranking so were not going to be awarded a licence so were forced into a merger with Manly.

Wests failed the onfield performance ranking so firstly tried to merge with the Bulldogs which was a no go and thus forced into a merger with Balmain who were awarded a licence.

Different now as Wests own 90% of the JV

Clubs were asked to provide financial details relating to gate receipts, sponsorship and other sources of income, while their on-field performances were also ranked. They also had to show they could generate an $8m turnover per season, average crowds of more than 10,000 and meet minimum standards at their home grounds.

Norths, who had featured in the finals for the previous five seasons before their sudden demise, had successfully lobbied for government funding to build the 20,000-seat stadium in the belief that relocating to Gosford would ensure their survival.

Instead, they were forced into the failed Northern Eagles joint venture with Manly, whose ranking in the criterion of profitability was below even that of Western Suburbs, although they finished higher overall because of their on-field performances in 1995 and 1996.

It was good to learn the other night that the WA state government are talking with VenuesWest and the NRL to make sure Perth ticks all the boxes required in the background ready for 18th team expressions of interests.

For now sit back and let the papers sell papers.
Hopefully the NRL ask for the West side of HBF to be rebuilt. With three tenants I'm sure they would oblige.

New west stand, roof over south stand
CofE for NRLWA/Pirates
NRLWA funding for jnr participation and female program's
Favourable ground hire fee for first ten years

$200 milll ish investment

that'd set the game up nicely in WA for the years ahead.
