WA BEARS

No. Same rehash of stuff. Everything hinges on two things now. Can the consortium raise more money and will nrl be willing to accept a counter offer. Or will wa govt pay start up costs allowing nrl to own and run a WA club.
Even if they did, cumins already offended them enough to suggest they want to carry on without him or the consortium involved, my suspicions suggest pvl is keen to get the bears in purely to get that stadium investment up and running

They may well but if it’s western bears or they have to pay start up costs and own the club then I’d suggest cutting your nose off would be a pretty dumb outcome.

Wa govt is going to build the game a centre of excellence and hq for nrlwa as well as pump signifcant funds into RL participation across the state. Not to mention build a rl stadium fit for purpose. Once in a lifetime opportunity in an afl state with a RL friendly govt. if nrl decide to walk away from that for sake of $20mill then you’d very much have to question their leadership.

Huh? Cutting off your nose? You think cumins is the be-end all-end of Wa RL, seems like you are again backing the wrong horse

Peter Cumins has been very good for rugby league in WA, but maybe he is better off as a sponsor and not in a high profile ownership position.
You seem to be ignoring this is a consortium, he is the public facing part of it but there’s a lot more than just him involved.

I know there is one wa bid. So unless nrl is willing to own the club then it’s this bid or nothing.
So yeh walking away from what’s on the table for $20mill or a dislike of an individual involved is very much cutting ones nose off I’d suggest.

In an ideal world, expansion into states like this should be NRL funded, with a view to selling it off once established

Yes but as the head of that consortium Cumins had one job, and he fluffed it. If this was the Bears, people would be tearing strips off of them, yourself included, actually some people are blaming the Bears and they weren’t even a part of this mess.
