Gold Coast were always getting a team at some point, very ingrained in league, most of the best rookies hail from the schoolboy sides up there..
Too bad the titans were mostly a basket case for a long time, hopefully des gets them doing something memorable soon

That John singleton bid was bulletproof

Gallop promised them they were in then couldn’t get the other clubs on board

Cc bears is a much better fit than Perth bears it would’ve been a powerhouse club

Gold Coast do deserve a club it’s a massive city with a huge junior base and growing fast

Problems with CC is its way too close to Sydney for the majority (at the time) of clubs liking regards to sponsors, fans and recruitment.
Nowadays it wouldn't be much of an issue, but still we aren't growing out of the "nsw bubble" enough to be everywhere yet, so for the moment, no more nsw teams, at least until we have more of a national foothold on both Aus and NZ, maybe teams 21 &22 could be CC & CQ/seq4

They started with 2-4 games, hence why the hate began.... if they had initially went with 1 home, I think people wouldn't have been so dismissive, but they went way too high, especially since it's meant to BE a perf team

Someone on the thread a few months ago mentioned there wasn't much going for the areas between Newcastle and Tweed, the bears could've been the North Coast Bears, played at a few locations throughout the year, based at CC,then rotate games at Port Macquarie, Tamworth, Coffs, Byron etc, still could work if they are willing to put thier money into country RL, and if the Perf bid goes belly up

Lol I'm one of the people most opposed to the taxpayer funded PNG bid. I'm opposed to it as I don't believe our tax dollars should be funding the operations of professional sporting teams though, not because I don't think foreigners are welcome.

It was never going to be 2-4 games, as I tried to point out to Perth Red negotiations needed to start somewhere.
Nobody can blame the Bears for the Western Bears failing though that’s totally on dipshit Cumins and his bid team.
They were in lol, seriously what dumbarses.
Cumins should just stay in his lane, which is as a sponsor of the game.
