Like the Broncos giving the go ahead for the Dolphins? Or McDonald's giving the go ahead for Hungry Jacks?

The last organisation on earth the NRL will be taking advice from in regards to another NZ team is the Warriors.

Yeah exactly right … just like the Broncos that managed to sabotage the Crushers and ensure that there wasn’t a second team there for decades after they should have …

who is currently pushing the NZ2 bid? Who is going to provide the money ?

Do some research mate, there's been 4 bids from NZ with substantial backing.

Is there:

- Any Govt funding?
- Any private funding?
- Any junior pathways?
1 - No - Central Government is an austerity Government & local councils nationwide are grappling with infrastructure issues & have little space for non-core.

2 - I assume that would all be well detailed in the bid documents.

3 - There's local rugby league in Christchutch, plus a rugby union talent pool that could have some juniors swayed into rugby league if they have a local NRL club team to aspire to (and the age-grade teams under it).

The biggest hurdle IMO is the Government funding component, but anyone with an ounce of knowledge about NZ's current political situation will know that Government largesse is NOT happening in the current climate under a National/ACT/NZ First coalition.

However, the the big three things NZ 2 has going for it are the new stadium in Chrisrchurch (which will be unlike ANYTHING currently in the league), juniors, and a sporting culture that's rugby (union and league) oriented, that naturally understands both games.. and doesn't have AFL dominating in the winter months

lol broncos are owned by news ltd who were keen to get more ptv viewers in qlnd and agreed to allow the least impacting bid on the broncos on the proviso broncos were on fta less. No vested interest what so ever in letting in another brisbane club after decades of blocking it!

hungry jacks and maccas are not administered by the same company,

nrl wanted to base ong in cairns, cowboys said no way, nrl backed off.
