WA Govt lack of support for WC

Apparently when the ARL demanded the WARL put up a bond in order to host a World Cup game (so much for developing the game!) the State Govt only offered $50,000. Given they put up alot more for the RU WC is it fair or just a reflection on the low profile and lack of interest of RL in the West?

low profile and lack of interest of RL in the West. Also are they going to get an australia match? No. So why put up $300,000 when they will get maybe england v minnow. Do you really see the minnow team bringing much money to WA, are their supporters full of cash they can spend visiting WA. Unlikely (especially if they are PNG). Potentially English supporters can add some money to the coffers of WA, but RL is not huge in England. It doesnt have the same pull as cricket, soccer and union in getting fans following them around the country.

Until RL puts some real effort into WA and not suggesting they pay for the opportunity to have a token game played in WA would the government of the state be prepared to support RL.

Its a sorry state of affairs when the game cannot go national. We need more money or better administrators, to push outside of NSW, QLD.
