arent they essentially paying the player, giving them the right to use that player in promos outside of the club?

Yeh I suppose.

The club is to have zero involvement with working out the deal but 1 wonders if this normally happens?

That would NEVER happen.
How could it?

How many times have we heard that "Player AF" will sign with "Club CB" for $Xxx,xxx, with a 3rd Party Agreement of $Xxx,xxx?

Clubs use their contacts to arrange these deals, then deny it when it's done.

I feel the same. If he goes well good luck to him the bloke has served the club well.

I like the look of a kid we poached from the eels last year in chad McGill(yes I love chads)

He is very Gal like minus the ball playing getting in the way stuff. He rolls his sleeves up and does the dirty work. He started the year at lock but might have played prop last week. I see this kid( if we can hold on to him) as a future rep player no doubt.

Just on NYC players, sure brown and Holmes are the obvious ones we want to see in firsts some time this year but I have a mate who has big wraps on a winger we poached from the bunnies Josh Addo-Carr. I just looked him up and he has scored in every game thus far. He tells me he is bloody quick so might keep an eye on him in the coming weeks

Addo-Carr looks promising i'll back that up. Anyone with a bit of speed and height would be preferable to our current fkn wingers.

If it is i'm ok with that. Has not improved like it looked like he would. Think we need to start putting the big money into the backline.
