The Panthers have been dealt a major injury blow with centre Waqa Blake sidelined for up to ten weeks with a knee injury.

Scans on Friday revealed Blake suffered a grade three medial ligament tear in Thursday's win over Parramatta .

The 24-year-old Fijian international suffered the injury while making a tackle in the first half at Bankwest Stadium and didn't return following the half-time interval.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary will confirm Blake's replacement on Tuesday when he names his side to face Manly Sea Eagles at Panthers Stadium.

Tbh it’s not such a bad thing. He wasn’t playing that well anyway, plus it gives us a chance to try someone new in the centres.

If he puts Fui back in the centres after that Tigers debacle, that’ll dead set do me.

Absolutely. He was so bad Cleary had to move Whare to Fui’s side mid-game. Then Tigers just targeted the other side... Fui was responsible for 3 of the tries that the Tigers scored.

Maybe DWZ will still play a few more games for us?

Hope not. If he wants out, door is ------>

Hmm I am not sure. Who knows the truth but some articles suggest he had a hissy fit after being dropped and threw his toys out of the bath tub. He has always been a bit of a hot head and maybe after he has calmed down he will reconsider. I guess we won’t know until Ivan names his side.

I'd promote Johns to one spot we have left. Aekins 2nd choice. McGrady can play after June 30 if needed but even Luai as centre may work

He asked for a release. If he changes his mind now, how long till the next request.

I think DWZ needs to be careful that the door doesn't hit his arse on the way out.

He was but not sure he has the size to be centre. Promoting Johns is better
Yep, need to promote Johns before trying Aekins at centre. Otherwise NRL will deem Aekins a centre option and less likely to approve Johns' promotion/exemption. More upside to Johns at centre also.
