There is some interesting matches this week and i think Catalan Dragons v Huddersfield is another beauty.
Can't wait for the big clash to see who is the worst import in Super League when Hull FC host Wigan, Todd Byrne v Cameron Phelps, gee the fans must be excited about that one !

This round 1 line up looks well balanced across the board.

aside from the games you have mentioned

Castleford v Harlequins is a cracker. Castleford have strengthened their squad and will be up for this one at home.

Salford v Crusaders. Salford are back up and take on the new boys. Should be a pretty good hit out for both sides and could go down to the wire.

Bradford v Hull KR. If Rovers get off to the start they did last season this has the scent of a potential upset.

Hull FC v Wigan. Wigan have lost already and Hull must fancy their chances.

Not sure about Warrington because they are putting a lot of faith in the Anderson brothers, Louis goes ok but Vinnie hasn't done anything for four years and they have had no leadup games.
The key players for Wolves are Carvell and Higham imo.

I'm tipping in bold

Saints v Wolves
Leeds v Wakey
Hull FC v Wigan
Reds v Celtic
Bulls v HKR
Cas v Quins
Dragons v Giants

LOL is all I really need to say.

Once again a certain Cheshire team show how to dominate the majority of play yet still throw the game.

PS when the hell is warmer weather coming? 2 weeks in a row iv been at Headingley in sub zero temps now

It was a pretty lackluster game I thought. Saints didn't have to do all that much and won pretty comfortably even though Long missed almost all the conversions. Matt King is shocking.

I thought the game was a good one. (the result was horrible though)

In the first half the Saints expected Warrington to go wide - but they took it up the middle and they didnt adjust. Warrington had them on the back foot for most of the time.

2nd half, the Wolves tired and Saints ran them ragged - as they always do. Defence wins games and it was Saints defence in the first half and the Wolves lack of defence in the second which was the difference.

Once Warrington exhausted themselves in the first 60 with mountains of possession and not many tries for their efforts the writing was on the wall.

I was surprised they didnt look at a potential try for Penny when it was 14 - 4. That would have made it far more interesting if it was as close as it looked on replay.

Does anyone think Warrington will challenge for a top 3 spot ?

I know it's early days but if they make a few adjustments I think they can.

I would play Monaghan at hooker (interchange with Higham) and play Matt King on the wing.
Chris Bridge to 6 or 7 and when Stu Reardon is fit i'd play him and Martin Gleeson in the centres.
The forward pack looked strong but obviously not match fit.
