warriors game and suggestion for away games

First things first, we need people to attend our next home game which is next sunday at 2pm against the warriors.

in the last few seasons, this game would have probably reached the lowest crowd figures out of the whole year.

i remember the year before last year, (was raining) the crowd against the warriors was just over 4000 which is very poor.

the dragons match was a given, considering half those scummy merkins organised not to turn up, we did pretty good on our behalf.

but the warriors match is what people need to concentrate on right now.

maybe the Masons (i got the last pamphlet which was done by them so i can only suggest them) can organise pamphlets to hand around.
maybe they can email the rest of us copies so we can print them out and hand them around our areas.

we need people there.


In regards to away games, those in the area that cannot make it to away games or simply would rather help the club in any way possible, maybe we can all organise something at the sharkies leagues club for the game.

organise a feed and some drinks, waste some money on the pokies and watch the game with a mutual crowd.

what do you guys think?

2 dollar drinks an hour before game time.

Good suggestion on the Leaguesy for away games too. I am usually at the game but I know the atmosphere is fantastic for those that can't get to the away games.

The Supporters Club Members are also pledging to go to the Leagues for the games that they can't get to, particularly interstate games.

i think we should send an invitation to all sharks fans to meet at say at gymea at about 10.00am with jerseys on and flags waving, then organis a walk to miranda, through to caringbah then on to the game, almost like a recuritment drive, singing theme songs and encouraging people to get to the game, the walk if posible could go to sports ground rounding up the fans. people power

ill try and make it on sunday but if for some reason i cannot make it, is it possible to send me the flyers so that i can hand them out in the neighbourhood.

the missus and I go for walks every day around menai, we could use that as an opurtunity to put them in mailboxes.

thats actually a good idea, but the weather will contribute alot to whether you will get a crowd or not.

you will probably need to start with a fair amount of people (say more than 10 -20) to get people to notice whats happening and join in on it.

get the leader to advertise it to get the word around.

not only will this get some publicity, but it will be GOOD publicity as well.



it still frustrates me how the sharks marketing department don't do ANYTHING.

i understand that they have budgets, but seriously, how much is it to make a flyer and print out a couple of hundred of them. hire a 16 year old kid at say $7 an hour or something and get them to ride around on their bikes, handing them out to houses.

how much does it cost to put an advertisement in the leader these days?

there used to be a billboard at the service station at menai which would advertise the game, but thats gone now too.

instead they have dominos workers shaking boards with their daily deals on them to traffic that comes by.

I like this idea. We could burn the effigy of Magnay in Miranda Park. I'd love to see her face when she sees it on the 6 o'clock news.

A 'sit in' in the middle of the kingsway protesting our opposition to any moves to relocate would get plenty of notice as well.
