Fien has done nothing yet. 3 games. For his whole career thus far he's been a fringe first-grader, and you want to say he's been a success after 3 games? And I had no preconceptions about him being a dirty player, but he clearly is.

There were no preconceptions about Fien. He had a bloody good end to the 2004 season. And now he steps up with 3 full on games for the Warriors. He is so f**king far from being a nuff nuff in my book. If he is one in your book, you obviously suffer from delusions of grandeur.

As far as Fien being a dirty player, well that is just unfounded. If you are referring to his scuffle with Southern, Fien was retalliating to a late hit by Southern. In other words, Southern got what he deserved. You don't brand a player as "dirty" just because of one incident.

Nah. To be honest the notion first occurred to me when he was mentioned as a niggly player in the NRL forum by some nuffy. Then I recalled it when his constant niggling and repeatedly attacking the heads of opposition players was pointed out to me on Sunday. I'm sorry if you hadn't noticed, but by all accounts Fien is a regular pain in the arse (which I admit may well be useful for us- but the last thing we need imo is another niggly player.) As for his being "full on", he's yet to really do anything spectacular so I'm certainly reserving judgment. Lance Hohaia made a few good runs in his first 3 games :roll:

Nathan Fien does have a history of being one of those niggly players who like to rile up the opposition. Remember Ricketson's hit on him in the 2004 finals??

Going back further though, when he was selected for Queensland in 2001 he ended up having two games against Fletcher & Ricketson in the space of a couple of weeks (one was NSW/Qld, and one was Cowboys/Roosters) ... he made no secret of the fact that he enjoyed 'baiting' them and ended up copping a forearm from Fletcher for his troubles.

The Warriors/Souths clash this week could be interesting ...

Fien's a Hooker/Halfback - being an annoying little [expletive] towards the opposition is almost a job requirement :lol:.

As long as he doesn't start giving away penalties or inspiring the opposition to do better it's not so bad.
