Yep, I recall him putting the ball down a few times. Defensively though I like what he brings. You line 'em up, he knocks 'em down. Its attack where he struggles.

ummm.. I dont think i've seen him play but have been told he often suffers from the dropsies.

You mean like Vatuvei? lol even Jerome has that in his game. Peyroux will be in the frame of things on the wing, centre and fullback at a stretch bar injuries.

Fish needs to show some heart no doubts on his speed and skills.

Exactly. Do we need another butter fingers taking the field. I dont think so... But with Hurrell inside him he might be exactly what we need. A defencive orientated winger who can finish close to the line, We wont know til next year I guess

I dont recall seeing him drop the ball much, he might have in a game vs us, but I think you guys are being a bit harsh on calling him a butter fingers.

He's no fullback, doesnt have the ball playing skills. Pretty sure he's never played there also! He is a big guy, dont know what he is like under the high ball but I'd say he would have more impact out wide than Tupou.

he hasnt been signed to play wing though. Trying to find the article now, but one of the sunday papers had a quote from DP basically saying that Elliot saw him as centre, and only a centre.

This guy could end up being a quality player. Apparently John Cartright saw him potentially his best signing in a group of players that includded Idris, Douglas

here is a little of an article I found and below that Greg birds thoughts on him also.

http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8426949

A multi-million dollar off-season shopping spree snared Gold Coast some of the NRL's biggest names - but it was two largely unknown players who had coach John Cartwright buzzing on Tuesday.
Prized recruits Jamal Idris, Luke Douglas and Nate Myles all took pride of place in an 18-strong Titans squad named by Cartwright for Saturday night's season opener against North Queensland in Townsville.
However, lesser lights Dominique Peyroux and Ben Ridge were the names on Cartwright's lips ahead of round one.
Hardly pining over the loss of another recruit in Beau Champion (finger), Cartwright talked up 103kg, 185cm ex-Cook Islands rep Peyroux as Idris' centre partner against the Cowboys.
"It's funny how opportunities can open up for you," Cartwright said of the 23-year-old whose Titans website profile claims he is still working part-time as a removalist.
"He got a taste of first grade last year and got a new contract with the club and now he's starting.
"He is one guy who really excites as a coach.
"He's fearless, he takes the ball and runs with it, and the other players feed off him."

Peyroux a Dom Perignon of hard hitters

TITANS enforcer Greg Bird has backed Cook Islands wrecking ball Dominique Peyroux to become one of the most feared centres in the NRL.
Bird rated Peyroux the Titans' best in their 18-0 shutout of the Cowboys at the weekend as the 97kg international pulled out some punishing defence on his way to registering 34 tackles. In comparison, his centre partner Jamal Idris made two tackles.
Fox Sports statistics revealed it was the best defensive effort from a centre since round 20 of 2010 when St George Illawarra's Beau Scott chalked up 35 tackles. But if it wasn't for a finger injury to Storm signing Beau Champion, Peyroux would have been playing for Tweed Heads this weekend in Round 1 of the Intrust Super Cup.

The 23-year-old big-hitter, who's played just five NRL matches, has a chance of securing a permanent first-grade spot if he can replicate his efforts at Skilled Park on Saturday against Canberra.
Bird said Peyroux had exceeded expectations and Champion, who should be fit for next weekend's home match against Melbourne, had some stiff competition at right centre.
"He was very good. I think he was our best player," hardman Bird said.
"If I had to give out the man of the match (he would have got it).
"He's only going to improve. He combined well with David Mead and his defence was aggressive. He made the right decisions.
"I'm looking forward to seeing how he goes again.
"Beau Champion has got to slip back into the team somewhere and has his work ahead of him with the way Dom Peyroux played.

"Dom is a great player. Was solid last season and looks the goods this year as well. Strong and deceivingly quick! I'm sure he'll be at his hard hitting best tomorrow night against the Raiders. Go the mighty Titans!!!"
Gordon

"He can (become a strike centre). He showed glimpses of it on the weekend."
Bird was another standout in the Titans' shock win, clocking the most metres (176) and making 19 tackles in a 64-minute effort.
The NSW back-rower revealed he had been given a licence to roam by coach John Cartwright and his new-found freedom was paying dividends.
"I'm feeling much better for the run now and will feel better on the weekend," he said after his first match since the All Stars.
"We've recruited strongly in the forwards. We don't have to play massive minutes now because of the class on the bench.
"It definitely showed in the pack last week that we were much tighter and structurally a lot better.
"Carty's given me pretty vague instructions which is good for me.
"I can pop up wherever I see fit. I think that suits my game."
Canberra has never beaten the Titans at the Gold Coast in five encounters.

Also he was not forced out of Titans, the deal was to good from the Warriors. Elliot has promised him a centre position. Pencil him into the starting 13 , Big question is who will partner him now ? Hurrell, Ropati, Neilsen or Carmont ? Suddenly we have depth in the centres it appears

A MASSIVE off-season cleanout continued at the Gold Coast Titans yesterday as captain Scott Prince's release coincided with the club letting go of fringe players Dominique Peyroux and Brenton Lawrence.

But the extra salary cap space won't be enough for the Titans to lure a recognised halfback for 2013.

As Prince was yesterday released to join the Brisbane Broncos, it also emerged utility Peyroux had signed a two-year deal with the Warriors while prop Lawrence was finalising a three-year contract with Manly.

Peyroux and Lawrence's second-tier contracts are each worth less than $80,000 a year respectively.

Prince's $400,000-a-year contract has eased the pressure on the Titans' salary cap but they will still battle to find a worthy replacement.

The Titans are likely to have to push through 2013 with an inexperienced halves pairing, which spells trouble for a team that has struggled to find continuity in its key positions.

Auckland-born Peyroux was coerced by incoming Warriors coach Matthew Elliott, who has promised to find him a permanent home in the centres. Peyroux said he would leave the Gold Coast with a heavy heart on Sunday after linking with them in 2009 and playing 15 NRL games.

"It was pretty hard to leave the Titans. I love this place and culture. It's a good group of boys," he said.

"I've grown to love this club but it's a good opportunity. I'm full of mixed emotions really.

"It was a bit of security. I wasn't guaranteed another contract with the Titans."

The 23-year-old has shifted between the wing, centres and second row this year and is looking for some consistency in his game.

"I've always wanted to play in the centres. I've enjoyed second row but centres is first choice," he said.

"It's a great opportunity. He (Elliott) just wants me purely in the centres."

Peyroux said he wasn't forced out by the Titans.

"They were pretty supportive of the contract the Warriors offered," he said. "Clarky (football manager Scott Clark) said they wouldn't stand in my way. The opportunity speaks for itself."

Lawrence played 17 matches for the Titans.

Cheers for that...interesting to see whether that means Hurrell a) a winger b) a Vulcan c) an option ahead of Nielsen.

Or who is more likely to play wing Nielsen or Hurrell. I think it more likely Hurrell would to learn the game paired up with Nielsen. But where would that leave Ropati ? and would Carmont sign on without being gaurenteed a place in the 13 ?

I only skim read that but I don't think he has been guarenteed a starting centre spot, just that he will be used in his preferred position centre and not on the wing/second row.

exactly...im looking at you to play centre
not necessarily star in the centres...and play nowhere else

He has been indicated there is an opportunity at centre...no more

Take it with a grain of salt but .... "Auckland-born Peyroux was coerced by incoming Warriors coach Matthew Elliott, who has promised to find him a permanent home in the centres."

No coach would guarantee a permanent spot in a side, ever. Sounds like more media BS to me. We really need another winger...I hope this Turner rumor works out. I'd really hate to see Neilsen or Hurrell on the wing, they're centres through and through.

Obviously Neilsen has one centre spot sewn up for now, who will the other go to? I'd pick Peyroux, and it'll be a shame to see Hurrell miss out, but who knows how he'll go with (hopefully) a decent offseason under his belt. Interesting times ahead...

Interesting fact in terms of NRL experience

Konrad Hurrell 17 games
Dominique Peyroux 16 games
