Alright, everybody gather 'round.
I wanna share something special with y'all.
I hope I'm not treading on anybody's turf, I don't mean to take over this section, or anything.
You have to trust me on this one.
If you're a Grid Iron enthusiast then see the movie We Are Marshall!
Go rent it now!
I've put off seeing this film all this time because I thought its PG approach wouldn't be hard-hitting enough....but this film is not about a football game..it's not about football..it's about the human spirit.
Show respect going into this film though...don't think you're just seeing another football film about backs to the wall - we'll overcome adversity and win in the end like all happy ending sports type films - it's not about that.
This film is moving and I'm making an effort to buy this film within the next few days.
This film's special.
My favourite part was when the coach walks in on the quarterback and he asks him not to bench him, then he tests his shoulder with a few punches and the quarterback says his shoulder's fine and starts crying.
Powerful stuff.
The end when the assistant coach sits in the locker-room alone crying is powerful too.
It's strange to see a big name film company tell a story about the under-dog for a change.
These guys weren't world beaters and I hadn't heard about 'em until I watched this film last night. They didn't set the world on fire and they had the worst record ever in college football but they had spirit and heart and it's well captured in this film.
Great acting to boot, different to that Slaughter House Rule thing I watched the other night, man that was odd, that film caught me off guard but it was still good all the same.
We Are Marshall is a beautiful film.
I hope that Slaughter House Rule film isn't brushing off me when I talk about the word beautiful.
You've all got a job to do...now go do it! Go see it!
What other grid iron films are there to watch bar Any Given Sunday or Mark Walhbers film about Philli?
P.S. you gotta hear this.....in the post office just then, right? I go up to the lady and ask for a money order to buy this $100 book...I says to her, 'will I just bring this back here?' and she replies, 'yer, just come back and give it to me!'
I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me frisky.
Sorry, I shouldn't have confided that....I'm trying to show respect to my mentioned post topic.
But how she said it, that's how she'd whisper to her old man of a night.
P.P.S. There's 30% off every purchase at Everlast stores! I got a great hoodie for $52.
Check it out.
