We can beat the Dragons

Messages

Last year when we put up a great display against Canberra in Canberra the following week we beat the Dragons away from home.

This was the Dragons team last year

Ben Hornby, Nathan Blacklock, Mark Gasnier, Matt Cooper, Ben Creagh, Shaun Timmins, Brett Firman, Chris Leikvoll, Mark Riddell, Luke Bailey, Brent Kite, Lance Thompson (c), Dean Young. Subs: Ashton Sims, John Cross, Henry Perenara, Damien Bower, Mathew Head (one to be omitted).

We will give this thing a huge shake and will be a great match up, we need this to gain a lil momentum back.

I do remember Gasnier and Thompson didn't play.

But we need to win a early game with out JOhns! And this is the perfect time!

That will silence all the critics, and there are way too many of them.

But we can win, and we will, I am tipping them. I am not confident enough to make another avatar bet though, I am already sick of this parra avatar, it just seems so out of place.

oi still dont understand why we still have critics, were a solid team without him, we shud give this game a good show, the boysll be keen to keep the season on track, but do remmerb they ahve a strong team, theyve lost a couple games na will be looking to bounce back, traditionally they are one of our bogeys

We will always have this tag on us until we stay in the top 8 for a season without Joey.... this is our chance to prove that and get the critics off our back... I will never tip against the Knights and I'm not about to. There is no reason why we can't beat the Dragons. It will be a great start to the season.. I'm not worried that we lost to Parra as well put in a great fight and Abes kicked great.

Based on how they played today the local under eights could take on the Dragons.

We've definitely got the side to beat the Dragons, the younger guys just need to ignore the 'Johns hoodoo' and play the way they do when he's there.

I've bet my Avatar on this match and despite being offered an out due to John's injury I have faith in the Knights that they can win this match.

I was under the impression that Barrett is playing with pain-relief and that Brett Firman is out with a broken leg so the Dragons middle combination isn't as strong as usual.

This should be a very interesting and even match-up and I agree that the Dragons are some what a bogey side, but one team I look forward to watching every year as they are usually close contests.

The thing that needs to be said is that while we were beaten on Sat, we werent flogged and with the way that parra were playing the very well could have won even if joey was playing.
Let the critics say we cant win without joey.
We love being the underdog remember in both of the grandfinals nobody gave us a chance and we showed them.
Being the underdog may just be the best thing that could happen to us.

mmm, we were the better team in the majority of the second half,a dn we did have 60% possession at a late stage in the game, we still lack cohesion in attack

We can definately beat the Dragons, In fact if you take out the period of play when Joey was on the field we win against Parra, the two early tries Parra scored were from our errors,ie:- we gave up easy possession, then compounded that by giving away a penalty in both cases that resulted in two tries to them. We need to control the ball better, especially at the start of the games, and stop giving stupid penaties away, our defensive performance in the last two games has reverted back to last years efforts, we gave away cheap ball against Parra, we have to remedy that, we have the players to beat the Dragons, we need to adopt the tatics to beat them.

just remmerb exactly the same situation last year, cept this year we have either witt or ennis to back up kidley, 40-8, last year we turned up adn theres no reason why we cant do the same this year

And lets face it no respect to the Dragons but they arent exactly playing the best this year.
If we can get this win i think it will give us the confidence we need for the rest of the season.

The Dragons scare me... I'm always afraid when we play them... we don't have the best recored against them... But I do believe we can beat them this weekend.

I'd like to see our team for this one.

I'm glad we're playing them this week, the Warriors next, and then we get some players back for Roosters game. That's the one that worries me the most.

Yeah I am the same, not worried about the games until the Roosters game. That will be the real test.

They are the ones who have knocked us out the last two years. If we can knock them over we should be set for the rest of the season confidence wise anyway.

From memory, the Dragons have a great record against us at Marathon, but I'm not sure how we go at WIN.

I'm optimistic about our chances :D

I'm on tenderhooks for the next few weeks waiting to see how the team goes playing under Kidley's directorship.

While I want to see the Knights win every week I realise this can't be expected and have to keep reminding myself that it's still early on in the season and we can afford a loss or two.

What concerns me is the way the Warriors are playing atm. 0-3 means coach Anderson will be seriously concerned and will be doing everything to get the Warriors back on track. I'm having a Knightmare of another 42-0 hiding which we coped a couple of years ago.
