We Can`t Win This Weekend

I really can`t see us beating Manly this weekend, but with a bit of luck it may be a loss that we need to have. Maybe, just maybe the coach might get rid of a few of the passengers regularly selected if we do get beat this weekend ???
I know his past track record says he won`t change anything regardless, but this game against Manly will have finals style intensity and if we don`t stand up to it, surely he`ll have to change his mind on a few selection decisions ?

Agreed we wont win at brookvale but i reckon we are a 50/50 chance at the central coast.I do agree however on the team selections fiasco

Good point.

But I can`t see us winning at Blue Tongue Stadium either. Hope i`m wrong points wise, but if it can mean giving us a chance of the best 17 being selected each week, one loss won`t hurt us.

I can see us jagging another win here and the fact it is not at Brookvale is a big advantage.

The games we will lose in the run home will be against the Eels, Panthers and probably the Titans.

Manly don't impress me - thrashing the Sharks doesn't do it for me. Prior to that, they'd won 1 of 5, a 1 point victory over the Rabbitohs. I think we'll win if we continue defending the way we have been (1 or 2 isolated incidents aside).

And say what you like, but we've been getting the wins. We've used 29 players so far this year (second most behind the Dogs), to give an indication of how many games regular starters have missed due to injury, which has "forced" Sheens to re-shuffle the side and play players out of position.

Im very confident we will win, especialy if Lui and Ellis play and ppl are back in their rightful positions. I think being a match with a lot of hype could be what gets everyone firing back at their best. Blue tongue will also provide a crowd with at least 2/3 tigers and anti manly fans. As for shines and team changes, well it wont happen win lose or draw so just hope the guys picked play to their best which should be enough to win, that even includes fitzy because he can offer good things if he has a game without f**k ups.
The main thing tho is to start well, i dont think we can expect to come home strong over manly like we did against Cows/raiders etc. Gunna be a great game, i cant wait.

If Lui, Ryan and Ellis play, we'll get up.

If Lui is out we'll most likely lose

Just on that coming home strong part - we rank second behind Dragons in point differential in second-halves this year, +48 on the season. Manly on the other hand, start strong but finish slow, having one of the worst differentials in the league.

So whilst I think we can't let them get away from us early on, I'd still bank on us to finish strong. Wonder if that has anything to do with Folkes?

It may be a wet track, who do you think that would suit more ? Also what side does Williams play, is it Lotes side? f**king hope it is. Also Lote is a sh*tload quicker than i thought he would be, one break last week he should have backed himself tho and kept running, hopefully he will be extra confident after his great game last week and go for broke this week if he is in there clear.

Wet track with Lui & Ellis out, it's about even. Will detract from us playing to our strengths cause Sheens will play Benji & Lawrence in the halves. If Lui & Ellis are in, probably favours Manly and their meat and potatoes game-plan. That said, we've had some good performances in the rain / wet this year (Knights, Warriors) so I'm not so sure it's as much of a hinderance as it was in the past.

the way we've played recently a wet track probably suits us.

plus somehow we've actually found a decent kicking game for the first time in 5 years

???? If Lui Ellis and ryan play it favours Manly FTW???

If Lui plays it will encourage us to play more expansive, which in the wet might not be the best idea. That said, we've played better in the wet consistently all year so maybe it's not as big of a factor as in prior years.
