In a complex new development, NRL boss David Gallop have today revealed that the MacIntrye system has been reviewed and will be amended with the changes effective this weekend. The system will run as follows from week 2 of the finals:

2nd Highest Loser vs 4th Highest Winner loser plays winner of match 1 if they concede:
Less than 10 points in any ten minute period (not including minutes 1-17.5)
More than 20 points in any 5 minutes period (not including minutes 100-107)
Score more than 5 field goals

1st Highest Loser vs 3rd Highest winner loser plays winner of match 2 if they concede:
Less than 10 points in any ten minute period (not including minutes 1-17.5)
More than 20 points in any 5 minutes period (not including minutes 100-107)
Score more than 5 field goals

In the event that any team that begins with "S" loses, they automatically proceed to the next round on what Gallop called the "S" is best rule.
