Webster is better than both Turner and Geyer IMO.

Who are we to question Bellamy?

BUT - if it's a loyalty thing, I have a problem with that.

Geyer has become a complete nuffy though, and if we are talking about defensive frailties, nothimng surer than Lockyer, Hodges, and Hunt giving Geyer a working over on Sun

I'll pay that. Webster would be a better overall player than Geyer, but Brian Waldron summed it up nicely I felt.

Under the matrix, Matt Geyer would also be on his way out. However, Waldron points out exceptions must be made to ensure the fabric of the club continues to exist.

"We make exceptions because of the longevity of his career and what he's done for the club," Waldron said.

People could argue that the system isn't fair/doesn't work, but it's done alright for us so far ...

Webster is a much better player than Matt Geyer...it isn't even close.

The experience thing doesn't really work with me considering Webster has played in plenty of big games before. eg finals games, test matches - including Tri Nations final...

In saying that I can understand why Geyer keeps getting selected, there would be a huge up roar in the media and amongst fans if he wasn't picked and he is a solid player...

with the attacking prowess the backline has already, a better defensive player would be more valuable imo.

Matty Geyer's level head and brilliant hands have saved our a*se on more than one occasion over the years. He is a Premiership winning 5/8, club leading tryscorer, leading tryscorer in an Origin series & can kick goals.

Matt King's record over the last couple of years speaks for itself.

Steve Turner's kick returns are awesome and front on defence very solid for a bloke of his size.

Slater and Inglis pick themselves.

Jeremy Smith plays a very similar game to Mick Crocker without the experience. If you can't have the Master, the Apprentice will do.

Geyer had a shocker. The experience line is bullsh*t.

Experience means nothing if you are a sh*t player.

You think Geyer is a sh*t player? He had an off day. The timing was unfortunate, but he'll be back the better for it.

Things arent looking good for him though Phil. He's 31 now and to be honest he was average the last third of the year. He'll get plenty of chances to keep his spot next year but the truth is he doesnt really threaten to break the defensive line anymore. We have younger players who are bigger threats offensively (such as Israel) who by the middle of next year will be a better player's then Matty.

Currently? Certainly!

He couldn't even be solid in the GF.
