Me and the fiancee are doing it in Coffs at a place called the Aanuka Beach Resort. There are a lot of places up and down the NSW coast that offer wedding packages. It's a small wedding but we've made up for that by just booking a room at the club back home for a piss up with the guys who miss out on the wedding.

There are some good spots in the Hunter too, we checked that option out ourselves. Obviously I have no idea about your budget in terms of number of guests to fit in that cost range but have a glance at these sites...

How many people? We're getting married in Newcastle in the next few months. Some great places to get married for smaller numbers - we are using a restaurant called Bacchus which is an old theatre which has been renovated and converted in to a restaurant whilst keeping the theatre feel. Bloody expensive though - we are only having 40 guests though...

The Novotel at Wollongong does great reception/accommodation packages. You're right on the beach there for photos and there's plenty of churches/gardens around to do the ceremony

Recently was married at Margan Vineyard at Broke. Absolutely brilliant setting and we kept well within budget without scrimping on what we wanted (we had a budget similiar to yours).

if you are keen on the Hunter Valley give me a message and I can pass on some names and companies that you might be able to use if you are interested. there are plenty of people out there who have ridiculous prices attached but there are also plenty of cheaper options that don't mean you have to compromise in quality. simply getting married on a Friday saved us $$$ and hardly affected our guests and also meant many of the other services we wanted were available.

So far we have estimated roughly 60-80 people and alot of the will be coming from the Tamworth area so the Hunter will be pretty easy for them to get to.

My advice to you about photography would be to purchase digital copies off all the photos and make up your own album. The initial packages are around 2-3K for a good photographer but they charge like woundeds to compile and print out a good looking album and often charge overs for any extra pages or photo types that are not covered in your package.

It took the Mrs and I 6 hours to pick out the album photos and cost us another 3K in extra pages with panaramics. Bloody nightmare

I agree with you there, We are hoping to get a family member who does photography part time to do it and if that falls through then i would like to get copies of all the guests photos and use the best of them.

My aunt and uncle are both doctors, for my cousins wedding they got the surgical photographer from their hospital to do the wedding pics. Good photos as well!

I got married in the Hunter a year ago and the place was great. If you are planning a Hunter Valley wedding then I would advise you to get your guests to book accommodation as soon as possible as hotels book out very quickly if there are any concerts on in the area.

Being married for 14 years i'd offer one bit of advice. make sure the day is exactly what you both want, if you don't you will regret it. We made sure it was exactly what we wanted and glad we did.

The day will pass so quick so relax (try to) and try to enjoy the day. best of luck mate.

On the side note, Danish, how much did you pay for your photographer?

Ended up at $6k for te photography and video including 4 x albums (1 for us, 3 for parent and grandparents). Obviously got the full digital copies of all photos taken on the day too, which ended up at around 3000 in the end!

Only problem? Wedding was in October last year and we still haven't even started going through them to put the albums together
