Wedding Songs

Just reading carcharias post in the sad songs thread got me thinking - what songs did you have played at your wedding, and if you're not married - what ones would you want to have played?

I'd go with:
Smashing Pumpkins - Today
Gomez - Catch Me Up
Suburbia - Always

I'm sure there's alot more but i can't think of any now.

We entered our reception to eye of the tiger :p

umm the church stuff was all instrumental organ music and we didn't bother with a first dance so that was really the only thing I bothered to pick

I always wanted to use I would for you by Janes Addiction but didn't happen

Anyway, I'm against the concept of marriage but at my mate's wedding, we (the bridal party) were introduced to the reception to Sting's 'Every Little Thing She Does is Magic'.

Great choice I have to say.

Personally, if something went horribly wrong and I was to get married, I would choose Strapping Young Lad's 'Detox':

"I've Got A Feeling
With The Wrong People
And I Can't Control My Thoughts

I Wish That I Could Sleep
And Just Get This Over With
...This Is Only High School bullsh*t...

I Just Want To Feel

I Was Born
Absolutley Numb
No Good Around People
Everyone Knows And Watches Me

How Did I Get Here Tonight?
What Am I Doing Here?
How Did I Reach This State?
How Did I Lose My Sight?

I'm Lost ... I'm Freaking
And Everybody Knows ... Everyone's Watching

...So Here's All My Hopes And Aspirations
Nothing But Puke
God, It's So Lonely...

I Just Want To Feel"

:D

My brother had the cliched Eternal Flame and More than Words, but the bridal waltz was Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, which fitted them near perfectly.

WE had I Do I DO I Do by ABBA. Obviously not my choice but went down well after one of the guests tried to perform oral on the Elvis impersonator.

THe Hoodoo Gurus have an excellent wedding song on Gorilla Biscuit, it may even be called the wedding song.

Dev....it's not up to you.

Actually I shouldn't say I'm 'against' marriage, more that I don't see the point.

But that's just me. If people want to get married, cool, to each their own. Me, I'd rather not.

Nick Cave - Straight to You

All the towers of ivory are crumbling
And the swallows have sharpened their beaks
This is the time of our great undoing
This is the time that I'll come running
Straight to you
For I am captured
Straight to you
For I am captured
One more time
The light in our window is fading
The candle gutters on the ledge
Well now sorrow, it comes a-stealing
And I'll cry, girl, but I'll come a-running
Straight to you
For I am captured
Straight to you
For I am captured
Once again
Gone are the days of rainbows
Gone are the nights of swinging from the stars
For the sea will swallow up the mountains
And the sky will throw thunder-bolts and sparks
Straight at you
But I'll come a-running
Straight to you
But I'll come a-running
One more time
Heaven has denied us its kingdom
The saints are drunk howling at the moon
The chariots of angels are colliding
Well, I'll run, babe, but I'll come running
Straight to you
For I am captured
Straight to you
For I am captured
One more time
